No **** it will, but at least I'll respect them more for being honest with me instead of waiting an hour before the game comes out to tell us we can't have "our" Shepard.

I'm not going to cancel my pre-order over this, I just need to know so I can make the precautions of doing a new Shepard and all that jazz.

Just give us an answer Devs. Seriously...

If its true at least there's a way to recreate the old look. It'll take a little effort but at least it's there.

I would start making those precautions now. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I won't cancel anything either. I'm still very much looking foward to the game, but the total silence from BW is embarrasing.

They're always silent. Nothing new there. Then we'll have a dialog going about 4 months after release where they vaguely hint at improvements in the next installment and we get word that they're always fixing bugs, but a patch isn't being pushed urgently.

I don't understand why they can't patch it to import raw face data rather than a face code... wouldn't that solve it?

We'll see tomorrow. 22 hours to go before it is possible to unlock the game.

didn't they do that in 2? I'd rather ask this: "Why change something like that?"

This is getting ridiculous. I know BioWare has some of the worst fans in gaming but this is a pretty serious issue that should have been addressed days ago.

How can BioWare explain that they added random things like "Action Mode", "Story Mode", and multiplayer, but unedited ME1 faces can't import?

I really wanted to have my Shepards staying the same throughout the series. I haven't a clue how to accurately recreate the four different faces I made two years ago. This is a bit annoying.

Ill wait and see on release. Bioware knows this game will make or break the company after DA2, im banking on this knowledge for them to get it right, even if they have to patch it.

I have no interest in the endings, thats there decision to make them how they see fit, but to let this launch without proper importability? It would be a pitchfork fest come tuesday/friday.

The facebook page just referred me to the FAQ about importing saves. I guess that confirms it.

So, wait, am I going to have to recreate "Red-headed Chris Pine" again? (That's how my Shep has been described to me)

It really does suck, and at first I was very upset with this. I still am, but I found a way to work around it. I just did what some suggested and got to the part in ME2 where you create your face. I made the face almost exactly like my original Shepard's face and copied down the code. I then put it into the ME3 demo face creator. At first it came out rather weird looking, but a few tweaks here and there and voila, I had my Shepard back looking better than ever. Just copy down the new code and I am set.

Yeah it sucks having to take the extra step, but atleast it's out of the way now, so come launch day I have my Shepard ready to go.

Simple and surprising easy. Go into ME2, the ME2 demo may work aswell I think. Take a pic of your Shepard and then recreate him/her in ME2  or the demo. The hardest part is the jawline in my opinion. When you are done take a pic or copy the facecode at the bottom.

Put that into ME3 when it comes out. You can put it in the ME3 demo aswell, but not all option are there so your hep may come out wierd looking.

I wonder how the meeting in the conference room regarding importing faces went?

Should we make Mass Effect 3 support faces created in Mass Effect 1?
No, let's use the time and resources to create Shepard's trial at the beginning of Mass Effect 3.

Ah, bummer. Well, if I can't quite match it up, maybe I'll just imagine that it's a late side effect of removing those scars from his face.
