I hope it turns out ok for you guys as I would be pretty upet too, but can u change your face if you wanted to from ur me2 save? any idea's on how it will work? I'm finding I dont like mine from Me2..

You'll be able to edit your face regardless of what save you import, just like ME1->ME2

I asked the official ME twitter account about this:
Me: What is this I'm hearing about not being able to import Shepard's face from a Mass Effect 1&2 save?

masseffect: Huh? You can import your Shepard.

Me: Here's what he wrote: "My ME1 face never imports. My wife imported her ME2 face no problem on PS3."

masseffect: If he's having difficulty, he should contact us.

Me: So it is possible to do import your Shepard into 3, without having to 'rebuild' your Shepard? Silly question, I know.

No answer to the last one so far. Maybe they just got tired of my weird questions :P

"just the face" Seems pretty important, if you ask me.

I'd sacrifice the face for the choices if I had to.  The face is the less important of the two.  I'm not saying it doesn't suck, I'm saying that if the choices at least import, it's managable till they patch it.

I agree.

You sure about that ? I could not edit my face in either me2, or me3 upon import, import meaning face code in the demo, it was always accept custom face, accept default face, or create custom appearence from scratch. You could compare custom appearence and your imported appearance back on the menu to try to recreate but i could never get it right.

The official Mass Effect twitter just answered "Yes!" to the following question: "So it is possible to do import your Shepard into 3, without having to 'rebuild' your Shepard? Silly question, I know."
I guess that pretty much confirms that the guy with the early copy was experiencing some kind of glitch, right?

It will be better, if the others owners of space edition will dissmiss this.

Most of my sheps do not have face codes, which worries me. My main shep, however, does (had to change his hair, had to redo him), by the time I complete him they should have some sort of patch.

Hope.

So glad I take a virtual 'knife' to my Shepard's faces between ME1 and ME2. I've turned characters into Barack Obama look-alikes, I've turned characters into Arnold Schwarzenegger look-alikes, one actually looks like Bruce Willis...and I've even got one where I just for the heck of it closed my eyes and randomly entered letters and numbers on the xbox keyboard and hit 'accept.' it came out extremely ugly, but hey, oh well.

I'm almost positive you can edit from game to game. I distinctly remember changing my Shep's hairstyle.

I hope the Dev's comment on this, I tried re-building my Shepard in the demo and it turned out too different for my tastes and it's not my Shepard... that's a big game breaker for me.

I have updated the OP with the twitter convo between the me and the official Mass Effect twitter. Hopefully, this means that we have nothing to fear.

Why is it every new release bioware ruins more things than they fix ?

Honestly if imports from me1-me3 is glitched then EVERY SINGLE ONE of my sheps, 12+ are completeley broken, thanks for the info op.

Why didnt you warn us bioware to skip ME1 ?

Please note, this may not be 100% accurate. It may just be they guy's game there's something wrong with. but it is troubling.

Or the guy could be completely bull****ting.  We don't have enough information.  And we won't until the 6th...

We have plenty of information:
The guy went to the space-thingy with his wife. They got a copy each. One for the 360 and one for PS3. He also takes pictures of the box with the game (No pictures of the game, because of some NDA agreement). He said that he had some troubles importing his Shepard in his first playthrough. After completing the game once, he started over, and once again, he couldn't import his Shepard.

Unless he has A LOT of time on his hands (he's been answering spoiler free questions for HOURS the last few days), there is no way this guy hasn't got the game.

Where has he been answering spoiler-free questions? Any chance you could link it or PM me? How did I miss this? Haha. I'm so excited for the game but it seems like everywhere I look there are spoilers around here. Even in general discussion forum about the endings until they locked it down.

I'm still kind of stuck on how he tried to import from ME1 to ME3. Obviously that won't work.

Sorry im talking generally to his response about editing your character on import, nothing to do with this topic:P
