You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

I don't have a source, only what I've been reading for the past 5 days. You even said so yourself that the devs said there was nothing to worry about.
BIOWARE would never do something like that, just imagine how stupid they would have to be
There is a patch the day it comes out.
I was really freaked out but you must keep in mind that this is the main thing that makes mass effect different from other games.
I don't think we should worry about what some guy says.
I really hope you're right.
More I think about this thing, more I believe it cannot actually happen :
The devs have build a game with more than a thousand variables of story and they cannot make a correct face import tool ?
Absurd...
So absurd that if it's the case...

Logan Shepard:
ME1

ME2

ME3

The eyes are different and it may not be so apparent to others, but I've gotten used to this face over 4+ years and any imperfections at this point are pretty jarring to me. It's actually not too bad once I start playing and getting used to it but it is a huge hassle to get the codes for ME1 faces. Maybe if BioWare released an auto face-code genertor for ME1 saves it would't be so bad.

"So Mass Effect 3's ME2 importer failed to recognize/carry over the physical features of both my Shepards. All of my choices and data carried over, but for my man shep it dumped a random face and my femshep said "couldnt load data" or something and went to default. Has that been reported anywhere else?"
Sorry if this has already been posted or confirmed previously.

That is actually not bad looking. ME3 got it pretty close

I haven't been following this today so this may be old news but several people playing the game early on Neogaf have confirmed their ME1 Shepard's appearance would not import.

When you got aware of this - and you did, since this is one of THE flagship-features of the whole series, why didn't you...
a) Made ME3 the way ME2 was, able to simply import the face via savegame, without a code? Obviously ME2 did just fine, it collected the "source material" without creating a code. But ME3 can't why?
I'm beyond disappointed. And if there is any caring less in you, you should be ashamed!

So, Bioware, two questions:

But ME3 can't why?Made a tool that can extract face codes out of ME1 savegames. Not possible you say? Than how come I can extract these manually, with the Gibbed Savegame Editor in hour-long work that makes my calculator fly out of the window?
I'm beyond disappointed. And if there is any caring less in you, you should be ashamed!
I echo this sentiment. The data needed to extrapolate a face code obviously exists since many of us (myself included) are able to create a face code from our ME1 saves using Gibbed. It should be a no brainer for you guys to whip up a quick auto face code generator tool then, no? As it stands it's pretty tedious to manually create a face code and I dread having to do this for all my Sheps. Throw us a bone BioWare.

Lol, who are they kidding they don't care if they don't see a significant drop in sales. Lets face it, they've got us by the orbs.

they have that policy because people made death threats against one of the writers because she said she doesn't like playing games.

@njfritz Sorry, I had nothing to do with imports. I see you've tweeted Chris P, he's better equipped to find the people who know about it.
Welp. Its official, we're being IGNORED.

Demo with Face code from Mass Effect Tools

and for the people who say the Shepards look better in the actual demo:

That's not my Shepard.
My point: I cannot remake my Shepard in ME3 to the people who keep telling us to get over it.

Whats the point of posting your ME3 demo faces? Its not helping the cause of the topic, its only just causing confusion to be honest.
I think it demonstrates the point that, no, I cannot remake my Shepard in ME3 to the people that keep telling us to get over it. But I'll remove them if it's a big deal, lol.

@CaptainOrgia - maybe try tweaking up the face gauntness? ME3 Sheps seem to need a bit of it, despite it often having unfortunate results in previous games.
Thank you for the advice! I'm not great at making faces so I appreciate the help. I have to get this right before Tuesday, I guess.
