You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

I think it is unfortunate that The ME team has again disregarded those that played Mass Effect...Essentially what they are saying is it is a great place to start the series but a terrible place to conclude the series if you played the first two...sad really...
I guess the fact that everything you've done in the first two games carries over is nothing.
if the charcter you payed looks nothing like the first two games then yeah sort of...you know, it is kind of immersion breaking...and frankly unacceptable since they could do it from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2...
It's not like you can't make the character look like the one you made in previous games.
I tried. Its too similar but too different.
I'll be waiting for a patch. I'm not blaming BioWare. Probably just a slip up somewhere. I've trusted them before and won't give up now.

We can, but it is extra work that we shouldn't have to do.jmood88 wrote...

You strike me as the kind of person that puts on a helmet and doesn't much care how your character looks. So, lets just agree that you don't find this as important as other people and call it a day.
That's actually not true at all, I just don't whine about this when I can make Shepard look like the one's I made in the first game. If they took out the ability to make a custom Shepard, then I would understand the level of whining, but that's not what happened.

I think you mistake "whining" for attempting to make as much noise as we can so we at least get this acknowledged and explained.

1. Say that they are working on/already have worked on a patch to fix the issue
2. Tell us to deal with it.
At this point I could go for either option. I (probably not just me) just need closure.

Making noise on BSN obviously isn't going to accomplish anything. We need to get the word out on other forums. Escapist, neogaf, something awful, gamefaqs, etc. Maybe more press will pick up the story. We won't get a fix, but we'll at least be able to prevent fans from getting the shock of their gaming lives tomorrow.

Lets do it then

At the moment they just seem to stay true to a policy of simply ignoring uncomfortable things.

Can we get a lockdown here? Perhaps with a brief explanation that powders our bottoms and gives us our binky?

If the game somehow supported importing raw model data rather than a face code, yes.
Thats the only reason we have to rebuild from scratch. (at least that makes the most sense)

Easily. The question is...is it going to be.
And the second question is, does it matter? Since your "primary" Shepard is likely to be the first one you run through ME3.

A lockdown...Yeah that will definitely solve the problem <_<

I don't think so, considering the engine is different in comparison to ME 1. I'm not 100% sure on that though,

Well long as it has an answer attached to it, I'm fine with that.

Don't see why not, would have to be a fair size though. I just hope the issue is resolved before the European release (9th March).

Same engine, differing versions. Mass Effect is Unreal Tech 2, ME2/ME3 are Unreal Tech 3.
So the fact that they got it to work from ME1 to ME2 means that it should work going into ME3 too...but it doesn't, cause....pancakes?
Who knows, someone must have noticed this before the RC was certified.
