Well seems Chris Priestly is up and about as he just shut down the James Vega thread.

Can we get a lockdown here? Perhaps with a brief explanation that powders our bottoms and gives us our binky?

A lockdown...Yeah that will definitely solve the problem <_<

Well long as it has an answer attached to it, I'm fine with that.

I don't think Chris is coming in.

he ignored my tweet about this thread,
and he ignored my pm.

Yeah.

Maybe this is the real reason why he suggested players not to import their Shepards for the first playthrough <_<

Isn't it obvious? He was just manipulating us.

Not to my knowledge. They wouldn't be adding it to the EA CS FAQ if they had any plans to fix it day 1.

There is, but whether it fixes this issue or not is unconfirmed. Go bioware, they're on a roll.

Who knows, someone must have noticed this before the RC was certified.

You'd think someone with a basic understanding of the Mass Effect games and novels would have read Deception before it was released. Or at least someone would've proofread the incoherent mess it was, but obviously nobody cared.

Yes, but Bioware is working as hard as they can. I mean for us to lose their respect. They're really giving it everything! Origin, release-day-DLC to pay for and so on. I think they definitely earned our disrespect. ^^

How could not one human being working at Bioware play an import playthrough from 1 to 3 and no notice this before release?

Well that's depressing. I've been on this thread from the day The PLC started it and I've tried to remain somewhat hopeful this whole time.

We've had countless tweets, messages to Priestly and other mods or devs, and now 65 pages. All have been totally ignored or answered in the vaguest of terms.

Hair style change I can deal with. People change their hair,. that's easy to RP, but total facial reconstruction?

I'm glad everything else imports, but my main Shepard has had the same face since 2007. After 5 years I'm going to cringe every time he turns his head and the difference is glaring. I got the workarounds to build some decent faces, but it's still not the same. This whole game has been based around "your" Shepard, and in the final installment they destroy custom faces for all the oldest fans. What a blow.

Right but heres the issue with that, that novel mess is a whole different side of things.

There are a lot of developers that have poured a lot of blood, sweat and beer into making this franchise. And when it comes down to it, theres not a suit anywhere thats going to stop a game developer thats too good to be replaced from doing whatever the hell they want.

And if the developers of ME3 love it as much as they say they do, then I can't see how this passed RC certification without one of them sanding off this fix by themselves cause they knew how much it was going to matter.

In short, I'm a bit disappointed. Some of those guys at BW are like, role models to me.

i was actually still considering purchasing this game after all the dissapointments suffered(no vehicle, lack of choices in convo wheel, $10 to download prothean), but this is the last straw for me, im definetly gonna wait till it comes in the bargain bin at gamestop or some large chain retailer so long bioware thanks for all the good times, you've definetly lost a loyal customer ...

Are you able to easily bring the ME2 facecode over to ME3 without problems though?

I know it won't look exactly the same, but at least it's close enough and less work for me.

Just spent the last 10 minutes on my Xbox fiddling with character creation in ME2. Loaded up the import, imported my ME1 Face, and went back and forth between the custom apperance and the window where you choose between the imported, default, or new custom appearance. After about 10 minutes got my default looking exactly like my original import, wrote down the face code, and am ready for ME3 should I encounter this problem.

Granted I should not have to do this anyway, but now the problem (for me) is solved and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I encourage others to do something similar instead of just complaining, yeah, it sucks, yeah, they should patch it and it shouldn't have gotten past QA anyway, but there is a solution, just takes 10 minutes.

If only. Importing from ME1 to ME2 will not give you a code.

"Conclude your Shep's story from the first two games....just not on first play through because we done goof'd."

Rebuilding from scratch isn't too hard (I did it in ME2), but you'd think since Bioware loves to market their import feature, this would've been one of the first things they'd troubleshoot.

n00B question - does this apply to faces only? I.E.will we retain choices etc when we preload, but just have to rebuild the face? Cheers

This sucks.

Luckily, I've been able to use the CC in the demo to recreate my shep pretty closely.

No, but it will allow you to look at your chosen face and adjust the custom face option until it matches, as I stated above, takes a bit of time, but worth it to avoid any future issues and keep MY Shep.
