My first Shepard was the default appearance so this won't affect me for a bit.. still, I hope it's fixed by the time I want to start my other playthroughs.

Seriously PLC,

Stop complaining that people don't find this a big deal. Most Shepard faces are actually very similar anyway, and it doesn't affect the game.

You won't have a smooth transfer. You will have to rebuild the entire face from scratch.

perfection cannot be recreated. unacceptable.

Thats why we're making a lot of noise here.

After you upload the YAML file you then have to seach for your Shepherd with the name you uploaded it with. Then It will display slider positions and a face code. When you then put your facecode into ME3 it won't look right as there are few options set to defualt. Adjust all those and you should be good. I actually saw my Shepherd "snap" into frame.

The problem is I can not get the file to upload to even search for it. I type in a name then browse for the file put it in then hit upload file and it just sits there. I get no response from it, thought it did it without my realizing so I tried doing a search for the name typed it in hit search and nothing happened again.

for some reason I could not get that file to upload with internet exploror, I had to use Crome instead.  I found that odd myself.   on Crome the file uploaded correctly with internet exploror it did exactly what you are descibing for me.

but as I posted above using the information does help recreate your sheps.

So reading through a lot of this thread I have discovered one thing.

All other peoples' Shepards look stupid.

Nope, like me for the most part you should be fine. This only concerns ME1 ported Shepards for the most part. I only have two from ME1 myself.

You are considerably less screwed than us ME1 diehards.

*facepalm* sod I feel like an idiot now, thank you so much for this suggestion never even thought about it being an internet explorer thing. I have add problems with other sites, especially ones for college, like this but never put two and two together. I am going to try using chrome and uninstall explorer once and for all. Really gotta thank you again for the tip!

Just want to again say this solution:

...works very well. Many people (including myself) have gotten good results. It sounds more complicated than it really is. Don't let it scare you off.

Yeah that might work for me if I actually played games on consoles and all that.

Um...the above solution works for PC. Just skip steps 1-4.

Thats sort of the point of people having their own "vision" of what Shepard should look like.

I've seen some Shepards I'd consider "stupid" looking but to the person that created the look, its their Shepard, its their vicarious outlet into a sci-fi space opera that lets them play the hero.

So effectively the only Shepard that matters is your own Shepard, but...as this affects most Shepards, it matters to everyone.

I just tried to recreate my ME1 Shep in ME2 but found that it was impossible since the ME1 nose I chose is not one of the available selections. Also, I can't seem to recreate checks....for some reason they come out chiseled no matter what I do and the mouth seems to always pucker up.

Very disappointing and hope there's a patch day one to fix this issue

True, my canon Shep probably looks ridiculous but I wouldn't want to change him
Edit: bump

If I have to rebuild my ME1-ME2 imported face, will my renegade Shepard's scaring and evil eyes be gone? This will annoy me. Hopefully it'll import the renegade factor and apply the scaring to the newly created face. Bioware need to fix this with a patch.

Hopefully the Day 1 patch can fix something. Meanwhile, I'll practice recreating Shepards in the CC of the demo. Good thing about that CC is that we don't have to wait a 10 minute intro :D

Yeah guys my Shepard is one ugly dude also but it's still weird seeing all these different Shepards who I know all have the same voice and probably a lot of them have the exact same personality and story. They just look wrong!

It seems like ME3 uses the face code from the ME2 save instead of the actual headmorph. In ME2 the game used the headmorph from your ME1 save if you chose to keep your face, which is probably why one couldn't alter imported faces. Why BW would chose to remove the possibility of importing a headmorph in ME3 is beyond me. I'd love to hear a dev explain why they chose to remove a feature that was in ME2.

Wow that ME3 Shepard looks really tired.  (Yeah looks like he bleached/dyed his hair and got a job done his lips and eyes from ME2)

The code generation page is different from the upload page. Make sure you are using the right ones.
