The obvious solution is:

-Load ME1 save , write down code.

-Start new ME2 game , input that code and tweak face as necessary. Write down new code

- Start new ME3 game, input the last code and re-tweak.

Major grind, I know, but not an insurmountable issue.

ME1 generated Shepards do not have face codes.

This is quite troubling to hear

Looks like im going to have to try and recreate the faces of my sheps in ME2 to obtain the face code. Wouldnt be so bad if you didnt have to sit through the half an hour long into scene each time before the CC pops up *sigh*

I guess I have some time to fill before the UK release of the game

ME1 had no face codes - to get a face code from an ME1 Shepard you have to either mess around with the raw data or rebuild them in ME2 using a picture as reference.

I personally think that ME looked waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than ME3 demo.

If you look carefully to ME3 eyes shape you can see that eyelids are almost squares, meaning super low polycount! ME did way better!

I saw a thread earlier on this forum that actually was talking about how improved the actual game's graphics are on the pc than the demo. You have to remember that the demo had alot of cut backs and you can't really compare the two.

its like watching a trilogy and they recast the main actor in the third film and tell you not to worry it is still the same character...

lol so true. What a sad way to end a trilogy.

I'm not believing a word of this til I see it for myself. I'm not personally attacking you, but I've seen threads where people have said the exact opposite, that what we saw in the demo is exactly whats in the full version.

So til midnight, this is just another hypothesis.

Okay that is fine but there is proof already out there with screenshots of various characters such as Ashley, Anderson, and Vega. They do look much better. If I find it I be more than happy to post them here or just send you the link.

One of the worst ideas ever. How could Bioware think this was a good idea?

Will 100 pages of concern suffice? Tomorrow will be, interesting.

I don't believe this isn't a bug. If they did this on purpose, why would there even be an option to import the face?

What idea? This isn't an idea more of a mistake or something they never fixed or didn't know about till now. They didn't purposely do this. Stop acting like they did. It is more like a problem that was never fixed if anything.

Feel free to post whatever, simple facts are it doesn't matter to me if Ashley has a high resolution voxel composite mesh that makes her look so real that she could walk out of my monitor, if my Shepard looks like a plastic G.I. Joe toy I'm going to be a little annoyed by this.

Demo CC was definitely showing signs of extreme headmorph degradation....for what purposes I'm not even sure of...its not like the game needed performance tweaks. ME2 ran just fine.

Has anybody found a fix? This is incredably annoying, I have tried to recreate my character in the CC and the character I and he looks like an distant cousin of my original character, and I don't like the look of the default face either. Was this game tested prior to launch? This is not something at least one person testing the game wouldn't notice, and I can't imagine it being that hard to fix.

Yeah they pushed back the 11-11-11 release date to 3-6-12 cause they needed more time not to test the game.

I honestly do not know why this forum even exists. Not one of the issues (of which there are plenty) is being addressed in any way shape or form.
FoV, Face import, MP Bugs, etc.
Some of these topics are months old and have yet to be addressed. And now that the game is playable for more and more people, the topics are going to pile up even more.

I don't know what else to say. Just dissapointed.

You have any proof of this claim? I want to see a source.

How could they have not known? I mean, aside from the fact that despite the nature and size of the thread that their absolute silence on the matter speaks volumes, there's only really two ways to look at this: they either outright knew about it and didn't consider it a priority for some reason, or they never actually did a single import from an ME1 playthrough. Neither is good, both are dishonest and even lazy. Aside from the import decisions themselves carrying over correctly, this should have been the next highest priority given how much they were going on about the big Shepard import across three games. What we've got now is essentially 7+ years of lies.

So after a 10 hour shift at work, I get to spend my night trying to remake my Shepard in ME2 so I can get a facecode that will, best case scenario, give me a Shepard in ME3 that looks like mine after suffering a severe allergic reaction to shell fish.

Found it SLPr0 the thread itself got buried so I had to dig for it.

The dude took like two screenshots in thread that he linked to. I personally think Ash looks better and so does Vega along with Shepard.

The last page has more screenshots.

The worst part about this is that it is clearly not a mistake. This is a deliberate design choice. They could do it in 2 so if they just copy-pasted the CC from 2 into 3 i think all these people would be a lot happier. But instead they made it look slightly worse and now it won't recognise our character's faces. It's impossible that they didn't notice this during development but they are so focused on getting new customers like the call of duty crowd with the multiplayer so they can make MOAR MONEES instead of satisfying their fans. I think that in 5 years people will be singing songs called "Bioware rap*d my childhood."

I don't think its so much a case of needing proof as it is a case of simple cognitive logic.

BioWare is a major game studio. The Mass Effect team has had some of the best and brightest of the BioWare development house devoted to it.

Somehow a feature that is one of the major "RPG" features left in the game, which is the continuity of "your Shepard" has turned up broken and no one at BioWare seems to know why or even has an answer.

Simple facts are if they had never seen this, they'd have immediately said so, 6 days ago, and worked on fixing it.

Their testers and QA team did see it, the release candidate was passed and certified for gold master with the issue unaddressed.

To assume that "no one" noticed this is like assuming that a room full of plumbers haven't noticed the room is full of water even though they're walking around in it, and have no idea what could possibly be causing the problem.

Just want to state again the USB solution works pretty well. Here are my results. Most the differences are due to haircut, ME2/ME3 lighting difference, and that the ME2 is slightly animating.

That does look a lot better. Maybe I won't have to play with a mannequin version of my Shepard's distant cousin.

Has anyone seen pics of a custom ME2 Shepard imported into ME3?
