You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

I guess ME3 really is the best place to pick up on the franchise, eh, Mr. Husdon?

Well, Stanley Woo is on duty locking threads. Don't think we'll get any kind of comment from him on this though...
Me either. We're a week old in this thread and it's growing like crazy today and still no word. I think they're just going to ignore it, especially since they're probably all handling launch details tonight.

They could've saved themselves...but instead they just ignored this thread for A WEEK. Its their own fault for not responding.

Yep wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing alot of new accounts being made just for those topics alone.FaWa wrote...

So I decided to try the longwinded way of recreating one of my shepards for ME3. (Importing ME1 save into ME 2 then refering back to the imported face while trying to recreate it in order to get a facecode. It didnt 100 percent match, Even when I got the code and imported into ME3 demo things were still off so needed tweaking regardless. You can see the result against this femsheps previous faces below.
Its not perfect but I at least recognise bits of her in there. Just 5 more to work out ready for ME3

Just because something isn't an issue for you doesn't mean that it isn't an issue for others.MercenaryNo wrote...
No biggie. 5 or 10 minutes in the custom face menu and my shepard will look as normal as ever.
I myself only have two Shepards. I made them years and years ago, when Mass Effect was released. I have no experience with the creator after that. And I hardly expect that I can remember the small details that made my Shepard unique years down the line (not to mention that the creator itself has changed).

While I'd like to believe that, the only developer comment we have on the issue seems surprised that an issue exists at all. That doesn't exactly have me confident that they're working to nip this in the bud.Mercedes-Benz wrote...
Hopefully the reason they are not responding is that they are working on fixing it as soon as possible (as in the next 24 hours).

Yeah that was disheartening. After a week of complaints the least the BioWare mods could have done was pass along the issue.

The bug doesn't have anything to do with transferring saves from PC to xbox.
The bug only affects ME1 faces imported directly into ME2. If you adjusted your face in ME2, you should be fine.
Are people actually reading the thread or are they so concerned with defending bioware that they dont realize it relates to all imports from ME1 >>>ME2>>>

I managed to make a pretty decent look-alike of my ME1 character that I imported into ME2 by referring to photos using the ME2 CC to get a face code. I used the face code in the ME3 demo and while it doesn't look exactly right (face shape is a little different and eyebrows were different), I'll be happy to use this face after a little tweaking. My main concern is the renegade scars and red eyes. I like how messed up his face is; I hope the scarring carries over because of the choices I made.

Maybe it's just me, but.... men seem to turn out alright. But the women look noticably worse.
It looks like all of the Femsheps default to the same weird, hollow eye, bushy eyebrowed face.
