PLC, I think there needs to be a clarification here. There's a bit of ambiguity in the information you're passing along.

Is the person saying that the game simply refuses to accept the Shepard he's importing, as in, "You can't play this save file, walk away slowly"?

Or is the person saying that the game accepts the save file, but the face is unfamiliar to them and they have to reconstruct it using the Character Creator?

If it's the latter, that's a horse of a different color and far less problematic than what you seem to be indicating. I agree that consistency and ease-of-import is an important thing and I hope this is a minor issue at all. But if it's not forcing players to scrap entire save files, then it could be far worse.

Someone asked a good question earlier. Is the formula essentially, "Identity code on ME2 save = potentially bad, no identity code = good?"

As it says in the title, this is ONLY the face.Everything else imports just fine.

Asked him earlier today, if he had modded his save file or done the edit thing in ME2:
" Indeed I am! I did not mod ME2, I did not edit in ME2. I accepted imported face. I'm sorry friends, but it looks like ME1 faces are out. I was able to recreate it in about 45 seconds though, so it's cool."

Thanks for the clarification. That's a welcome relief. May I suggest you consider adding that information to the OP?

I spent a couple hours last night working with the face of my canon Shep in the Demo CC. She came through differently, but I definitely found that she came out better once I reworked the face to look like the original. I was reacting to the difference rather than seeing a less-attractive Shepard.

From the OP alone, it's pretty clear that we're only talking "face" here. Even the title says this.

When I suggested making an addition to the OP, I was referring to the statement that the person experiencing the problem was able to solve it in 45 seconds. It would help to clarify that this is an easily solvable problem, which isn't immediately apparent from the otherwise very informative OP.

The thread isn't about whether the issue is easy to solve or not. It's about the problem being there in the first place.
If you're good at using the CC, it will take 45 secs to rebuild the face of your Shep. If not, this is a huge is a major annoyance.

I know what you mean, but I don't see a reason to add the info to the OP.

Yeah, add the 45 second quote, so people can see this will be just a minor inconvenience they can easly fix.

Again, the thread isn't about how easy it may be to fix for some. It's about an issue there shouldn't be there in the first place. It worked in ME2, so there's no reason it shouldn't in 3.

So, I spent about 15 minutes or so in CC, recreating my original Shepard. It turned out better than I expected to be honest. Still not dead on, so I'll probably do some more tweaking in the next 5 days.
I feel better now that I have a backup. Here's hoping everything turns out okay.

I have one question to anyone who knows: My Shepard's cheek bones are a bit pointy(stick out a little more than I'd like), what slider would I adjust in order to fix that? Cheek gaunt? Cheek bone? I don't even remember some of the slider names...

Well, it would be easier if a dev came in here and said that everything in the OP is wrong.
It seems that they're being silent though.. And I don't like when BW are being silent.

Yea, see the OP. I may not have been specific enough though, looking back.

Oh yeah, that's right. You might want to try individual developer's twitter accounts if you haven't already.

It's your thread, PLC. Part of the reason I was confused about the nature of the issue was because the original post - and, to be honest, your posts throughout the thread - were pretty incendiary. I understand you're trying to draw attention to the issue and I applaud that, but to have information that says the issue can be easily fixed and not provide it in the original post is a little bit manipulative.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't raise attention to the issue, but quite honestly you're scaring the hell out of folks over something that appears to not only be easily rectified but may nor actually be a bug or glitch.

Thanks for listening.

You don't mind that the game ****s up at something as simple as importing your Shep's face?

AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T AFFECT THE OTHER THINGS. Nope. If that's only thing it messes up, fine. I'll deal.

Yeah...but it's not really the only thing.
Also if the demo is any indication, no femshep will import properly. The face always looks drasticly different in a bad way.

I agree. My friend tried to copy-paste face code from ME2 to demo and the face didn't look like in ME2. The main problem was the hair style.

I had to recreate my Shep from scratch in ME2 anyway, because his imported nose looked as if someone smashed it with a hammer. Wouldn't bother me too much if I'll have to do the same in ME3.

I bet it is because he is playing the game before actual release. There is ALWAYS an update that gets downloaded when you first put the game in. They had a similar problem with people playing early copies of Gears 3. Their unlocks they got from playing 1 and 2 weren't working properly because the day one launch update wasn't accessible to them.

Just going to quote myself since noone noticed. This is most likely your answer.
