Huh. That sucks. Maybe a bug they didn't see coming?

Worst case, I load up ME2, get a good damn look at what my Shep looks like, and I hit the character creator for a while. Not a gamebreaker.

Best case: they fix it before my collectors edition gets here tomorrow

I can't beleive this. I got 6 characters I can't import. I think I am done with video games now. This shoud have never been alowed to happen. All the build up wasted.

Well, I just went through the ME2 import and no facecode ever came on the screen. This is such a bonehead mistake. I mean, really? Really, really? I'm going to do the best I can with the character creator, but I know I won't ever get my characters just right. I. Can. NOT. Believe. This. ALL of my Shepards are ME1–ME2 Shepards. Wow, talk about getting off on the wrong foot.

You will have to either take a picture of your Shep a try to recreate it in ME2 or use the back out method during the character edit screen and try to recreate it that way. I did that with my Fem Shep which came our pretty good but my Male never comes out similar to my ME1 import version.

The ME3 board on gamefaqs is blowing up because of this.

I'm not surprised.

Hell, let them know that we've blown up too.

Hell, link us. Let us stand united.

From the day ME1 was released, I have always used the default male Shepard's face, I could never make a custom face that I liked, and I always doubted that the facial import would carry over correctly, sadly it seems I was proven correct in the end, my sympathies go out to anyone who cant import their custom Shepard face.

Can anyone tell me if Renegade scars carry over?

for 360 users..
it took microsoft about a week to certify and release each new title update for skyrim's many woes (my understanding from the bethesda devs is that microsoft usually takes this long for all games), so unless bioware fixed this me1 face import problem right around the day the PLC made this thread (7 days ago)......don't expect to see this hypothetical update on xbl tomorrow or the next day

The patch is currently broken. As in, it gets deleted every time you launch the game. Amazing.

We need a patch to fix a patch.......

That is demonstrably false, since I'm a 360 player, imported from ME1 to ME2, and have a face code on my character screen.

Did you import your character from ME2 into a ME2 NG+ playthrough?

Gemma, its never too late.

Hell, I'm trying to get into Michigan for Uni(and you know who).

If I'm going through hell for that, this shouldn't be a problem.

Uh...can't you guys go copy down your ME2 facial codes and type them into the ME3 generator? It's more work than should be required but it gets you to the same place eventually.

And where might I find that face code, exactly?

Should be on the character screen. That's where they are for the ones I imported from ME1 --> ME2.

Not true. Only Sheps made in ME2 have a face code show up. At least on the 360.

And yet I don't. In fact I tried it two days ago and it was certainly not there.

I've only used one Shepard.

One. Shepard.

For five years, ever since 2007, I used one Shepard.

And for the finale, the finale I've been waiting for for 5 years, I can't use his appearance.

This is WORSE than non removable helmets by far.

This is a deal breaker.

SING IT!

Let's start telling them here as well... https://www.facebook.com/masseffect while they are touting all there big release party garbage and celebrating their money... Tell them to get back to work and fix the game...

I sent a News Tip about this to IGN. Others go do the same. If it goes up on IGN other suits are bound to follow and it will force BioWare to act or deal with bad publicity.

We've been through this 1000 times on the old ME2 360 modding thread.

When you imported your ME1 Shep you looked at something else before confirming your import.  The code you see is that code.  Type your code into the creator - it ain't your ME1 Shep.

Don't know how many times we've been over this. ME1 imports do not have codes, Ever.

Eh...Canon Shep (
EDIT: Actually, -not- Canon Shep, but a character that I did do an ME2 --> ME2 NG+ with), so probably yeah. I'll go take a look at my Engie.

Love ya for it.

And apparently a lot of y'all want me to lead the charge, haha.

Then lets get this done.

Blow up twitter, facebook, and everywhere you can even possibly think of.

They WILL know of this if they don't already.

I really don't understand why they won't at least post in this thread. Say they're looking into it or... something.

Using the "workaround" I got a very close approximation, but it just looks.... different. Obviously ME3's face creator works a little differently than ME1's, so the faces don't come out exactly the same.

This is so stupid. This should so not be an issue. Why would they allow this to pass Q&A?

What about a save that was imported from ME 1, but then turned into a seperate NG+ save?

Will the NG+ Save using a face from ME 1 work?

BTW , to all ppl suggesting taking a pic of ur Shep and recreating it - its impossible. At least in my case there are no options to create a face even remotely as heroic. Jokes aside , there is no presets for ma face =(

Guess what, chief? I've copied that code into the ME2 generator for use on another Shep and it worked out fine. Either I'm missing something or you are.

WOW ........

I hope someone gets fired over this. I'm so disappointed I may not even play ME3 for a few months in the hope that they patch/fix this. I wanted to play as MY Shepherd... not some knock-off that looks weird to me because some idiot at BioWare decided removing customization features and breaking character importing would be a good idea.

The people who imported ME1-->ME2-->ME3 are likely the most loyal fans of their franchise, and yet we are the ones BioWare decides to shaft. I am PISSED OFF.
