You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

What about a save that was imported from ME 1, but then turned into a seperate NG+ save?
Will the NG+ Save using a face from ME 1 work?
Unfortunately, nope.
The game does not ever generate a code for an ME1 import. ever, under any circumstances.
OP has instructions for the only way to get one.
If you have a code it's because you looked at defaults before you confirmed your ME1 import.
I know it sucks but I speak the truth.

This is worse than when I found out there wasn't a helmet toggle for preorder armors in ME2.
The helmet toggle thing is nothing in comparison to this. That was something I could overlook, this isn't.
no
you can make a better face you never could remove helmets and being in the collector suit was so stupid in the bar on omega, or everywhere when talking

Its that we WON'T.
And we have a perfectly legitimate reason to absolutely refuse to touch the game.

Uh...can't you guys go copy down your ME2 facial codes and type them into the ME3 generator? It's more work than should be required but it gets you to the same place eventually.
And where might I find that face code, exactly?
Should be on the character screen. That's where they are for the ones I imported from ME1 --> ME2.
Not true. Only Sheps made in ME2 have a face code show up. At least on the 360.
That is demonstrably false, since I'm a 360 player, imported from ME1 to ME2, and have a face code on my character screen.

Uh... okay buddy.

The people who imported ME1-->ME2-->ME3 are likely the most loyal fans of their franchise, and yet we are the ones BioWare decides to shaft. I am PISSED OFF.
Definitely sucky. I'd just like to add, though, that it's not just ME1 imports. Like I said on a previous page:
"But guys, it's not even just unedited Sheps - here's mine in 1, 2 and - ugh - 3.
Aside
from a slight tweak to her jawline in 2, her face is basically the
same. In 3 I can basically get a lot of things to look right...
EXCEPT THE DAMN EYES.
And where did the eye makeup go??"
See... I can forgive the fact that HAIR gets updated with something different. I can't forgive the fact that the default eye shape has been replaced with... that.

Some people do actually have codes though, I'm sure this guy does, he's just never actually had to use it so he doesn't know it's not the right one for his custom Shep.

Oh, and I'm an Xbox user, if that makes a difference.
If you go into ME2, start the game, press start and go to Squad, your face code is in the upper left corner right above your Shepard's name. It'll say "IDENTITY CODE:" and then the code. So you can now go into ME3 and use the code to recreate your Shepard.
I know it's not what we all expected, but at least it's there. Hopefully this can help someone relieve stress a little. Happy Mass Effecting!!!
EDIT: I see I've been beaten to it! *facepalm* I was just so excited to bring good news I didn't look. >__<

Except it is the correct one. I've used it for another ME2 Shepard, and I've used it for the ME3 demo. Both came out looking as they should.
As I said, either I'm missing something or you are.

I'm guessing this has to be known already, but if not than here's a way to salvage your custom face:

Guys pleasse read at least part of the thread before you post.
This won't work even if you have a code there.
