Uh...can't you guys go copy down your ME2 facial codes and type them into the ME3 generator? It's more work than should be required but it gets you to the same place eventually.

And where might I find that face code, exactly?

Should be on the character screen. That's where they are for the ones I imported from ME1 --> ME2.

Not true. Only Sheps made in ME2 have a face code show up. At least on the 360.

That is demonstrably false, since I'm a 360 player, imported from ME1 to ME2, and have a face code on my character screen.

Uh... okay buddy.

Some people do actually have codes though, I'm sure this guy does, he's just never actually had to use it so he doesn't know it's not the right one for his custom Shep.

Not only is it not on the squad screen, it doesn't show up when you import the face into ME2, it just allows you to "accept imported face". I know I was on pins and needles when ME2 came out, and when my Shepard's ME1 faces showed up without a problem, I cheered. Now, with this news, I'm appalled. How could they get this wrong? This is BASIC.

The problem is they removed a lot of the character customization for some strange reason, so it's literally not possible to recreate your Shep from scratch.

THIS is in fact the main problem.

I posted here, how my Shep turned out.

Except it is the correct one. I've used it for another ME2 Shepard, and I've used it for the ME3 demo. Both came out looking as they should.

As I said, either I'm missing something or you are.

Here's the thing.

In Me1 my first two runs, I picked a preset, tweaked it with very small changes, played through, and imported into me2 with a code. This code copies the face with no issues.

My last run, I picked a preset and some eyes and a few other things that in me2, there is no equivalent at all for. Those options simply do not exist anymore. The color of the eyes especially, in me2 there are no green eyes like that, and the preset I used to create her face wasn't in the me2 presets either.

She does not have a code. At all. It's import face or die, and in me3 I'll have to just make a new shep I imagine.

Some people have codes. Some people don't. And the people who wouldn't have had a code - those people who selected options that just aren't in me2 - who then play around with the face creator before defaulting back to import shep, THOSE ones get whatever the code was that their messing around with would have given them.

This is the cause of a great deal of confusion, and I hope this clarifies things for everyone.

Is it weird that im still allowing myself to have some faith in BW? Im basically just rejecting reality rIght now hoping they pop in here tomorow and go, "oh **** guys we totally forgot cause we were partying so hard but the REAL patch is live now. Go get it and import ur Shep!!"

*le sigh*

Apologies in advance, it's late and my reading comprehension is not the best at 1:00 AM.

This is the same thing I did for this particular ME1 Shep. So you do have a code for it that is copying correctly, correct?

The color of the eyes especially, in me2 there are no green eyes like that, and the preset I used to create her face wasn't in the me2 presets either.

And for this one there is no code because it uses ME1 attributes that don't exist in ME2, and messing around in the character creation screen leads to what the guy above is trying to tell me I have.

Assuming I'm understanding this correctly, that might explain quite a bit.

Seriously, how hard can it be to have the IMPORT face function fully functional on launch day.

It breaks immersion so bad in a game that's all about immersing your own shepard in the story.

p.s. on beer #3 and this still isn't resolved wth

Looks like it. I thought I was in the clear too. I can't believe this. Luckily I have the original career with the face code. It's just amazing how you can screw this up. I feel bad for those who have to make it from scratch.

Okay, some people are saying you can get the code and some are saying you cannot. Before everyone freaks out and there is an all out war, you really need to be sure that you can't copy the code or if it's just people not actually seeing it/knowing what to do etc.

Correct and Correct, and confirmed. I literally imported my last Shepard 3 times before I realised the code I was trying to copy in after the save only existed because I'd been tinkering in character creation. ON a brand new import without touching the 'custom face' option, she has no code at all.
