Okay, some people are saying you can get the code and some are saying you cannot. Before everyone freaks out and there is an all out war, you really need to be sure that you can't copy the code or if it's just people not actually seeing it/knowing what to do etc.

Please read my post on this, as it details the situations where some have a code and the situations where some do not.

It's a variable, and there is no set answer. SOME people have a good code they can use, because their face slider positions weren't changed between me1 and me2. SOME people do not have a code, or they only have a code because they messed with creating a custom face before selecting their import face. Those without a face code have one because their face sliders literally do not exist anymore, and I can confirm this because I imported my last shepard several times to check.

D: This makes me a sad panda. Just tried importing my Shepard, who remained unchanged from ME1 to ME2... and was greeted by a very unfamiliar face.

Hopefully u are right. Bit it seems EA rubbed of on Bio. And Ea is known for sadistic forum tactics =)

For those who imported from ME1->ME2 this solution works, just skip 1-4 if you're on a PC and the end result should be a face code for a Shepard pretty damn close to your original. All you have to do is fix the hair, eye color, and perhaps the skin tone.

It's still ridiculous that we have to jump through hoops to get this basic feature to work.

I tried the solution with a facecode, then spent about twenty minutes in CC and still can't get my shep back. I can accept different hairstyle and healed scars but she is TOTALLY. DIFFERENT.

Using the steps detailed here: masseffecttools.99k.org/index.php, I was able to extract my code from my ME2 save. Unfortunately, it doesn't come out anywhere near good enough for me to play this game.

I just don't understand how you can have a working feature in ME2 and then break it in 3. Boggles my mind.

I'll rage on fridy, if I can't get my Shep back.

Really, looking at your face for 100 hours was one of the main features for me.

What about Gamespot. This massive F up on Bioware/EA's part deserves a knock off on their review score.

But lets give them a few days, but if no patch arises, or Bio responds with words of the effect of "tough ****** deal with it", then by all means game reviewers need to flop this game.

You know what really sucks?

I got lucky and picked up the game really quickly at midnight.

All for nothing.

My feelings exactly I avoided the forums just in case I would get spoiled and wasn't aware of this issue until it was too late. I wish I had known about this bug earlier it probably would have softened the blow. No words can describe what it feels like to get the game in your hand and see that error message when you try to import its pretty freaking depressing.

Yeah, they must have taken out some values or something out of the CC. I had put my face code into the demo and could see my character but noticed the face code had changed one digit in it's line. I bet it's that one value that's completely not letting me import my face directly and having to do this.

I also picked up MLB 2K12 tonight. Who would have thought, that the 2K baseball game would have less game breaking issues than ME3.

What about a save that was imported from ME 1, but then turned into a seperate NG+ save?

Will the NG+ Save using a face from ME 1 work?

Unfortunately, nope.

The game does not ever generate a code for an ME1 import. ever, under any circumstances.

OP has instructions for the only way to get one.

If you have a code it's because you looked at defaults before you confirmed your ME1 import.

I know it sucks but I speak the truth.

The really sucky part is that I actually DO have a face code for an ME1 import to ME2, on one very unique import. I have no idea how I managed, and I write 'unique' because I have 7 imports with no face code, and can't seem to reproduce. (12 minute cutscene to get to the character creation doesn't help) The code is backwards compatible - if I use it to create a brand new character, the character turns out identical, so it's not the custom creation bug. (though I do have one of those, too....)

:crying:

I did that too and they deleted mine... like they are trying to hide it.... They can keep it a secret long enough to sell the copies and there is no refund on digital media... After we have it, it's our problem... Sux... They are party'n it up and have some people working on keeping it off there bragger page so those standing in line to buy don't change there mind.
