For those wanting to get the word out, reviews are showing up now - so I'd recommend leaving comments concerning this issue on them to bring them to people's attention.

So far it looks like reviewers pretty much all played a default Shepard, so they haven't experienced this issue - and it should be made known that Bioware screwed this up.

I'm sorry, I don't usually comment on things and complain about such and such, but this is absolutely ridicules. I want to play as MY Shepard. My face code is one of a kind and he is the best looking Character I've ever created. This needs to be fixed. Quickly.

Ah, and suddenly this "Wouldn't it be cool to start ME3 with a fresh character instead of importing?!" post by Chris starts to make sense...

I don't know why all the drama here is needed. Except if you recently replyed the ME1 (and ME2) i seriously doubt you even remember the face you created for ME1.

So what if you have to re-create the face again. It's the decisions that matter.

I just finished ME 2 a week ago. I know what my char looked like. Please.

I cannot recreate her face. Some of the options I previously had are missing.

Don't decide what is important for someone else's enjoyment.

I guess I should count myself lucky... I didn't touch my Shep's face in ME2 yet I still got the face code showing in the character screen, and entering that face code in ME3 worked perfectly (the import didn't).

The face itself is identical so hooray, I can play with no issues! (the hair is the only thing different but that's cuz the hairstyle was changed anyway).

This is exactly like the Mass Effect 2 un-removable helmets problem. Did they fix that? No....

If it isn't such a big deal to you don't post in this thread. You're not going to change anyone's mind about the issue. It's pointless.

Don't bother justifying opinions, people's import decisions are coming in flawed, and peoples entire saves are being ignored by the Save Importer.  I think that invalidates whose opinion over which is irrelevant when both are bugged.

I get what you're saying and can kind of understand.  Your decisions remain and the voice is the same.  Its just cosmetic.  However, imagine if someone you knew suddenly looked completely different.  They sounded the same and acted the same, but didn't look the same hardly at all.  It'd throw you off.  We're a visual species; it'd feel wierd (ignoring the inherent wierdness in someone morphing like that, I mean).

Its the same thing.  Obviously, its just a video game and not real life, but it still important and more important to some than others.

I can't get over my Shepard not looking like my Shepard. I mean, I looked at her face through two full games -- not to mention a couple replays. I can't even get a decent approximation trying to recreate it. Some of the options I'd need to get it to look right aren't even there.

Yeah when I  first read that post I was like "that makes as much sense as a spaghetti sandwich"

But now it makes perfect sense.

It also makes me think a fix is a long way off.

I know for a fact that my Shep's nose won't be available because it wasn't available in ME2. (err, not that I know of)

Okay, as one of the admins of N7 Academy, I've posted this article to spread the word. It's not IGN, CVG or Kotaku, but hey... we have to do what we can with what we've got. I think it summarises things pretty well thus far, but if anybody wants to suggest any additions or changes, feel free to say so here or PM me.

I used yay4fof's Femshep image as the header, so I hope you don't mind (I'll remove it if you do and choose another image).

Guess i'm not a "glass is half empty" guy.

Welp, they've responded to a Facebook post, but nothing that deals with this issue. Yay.

I have to be honest though. That Femshep that was posted doesn't really look that bad. I mean, they look a little different, but it just looks like a different "interpretation" than radically different. I would be more upset that she looks like a downgrade in graphical quality than anything.

Just to clarify, though, I'm not saying nobody should be upset over that. If you are then you are. I'm just saying that if my Shep is as close than I'm fine with it.

I'm hoping I even see that screen. I knew I should have remade my ME 2 face, but I'd rather remake the face then have a save that gets ignored by the Import feature.

Remind me to make a copy of the save and dump the original back on my harddrive, hopefully nothing happens.
