I'd like it, but BioWare seem set on using this bizarre open crate model. Probably to make people play longer.

The benefit to the randomization is that you unlock things broadly which allows players to change classes more frequently. If you changed it so that you could simply get 'widow' packs at 200,000 credits a pop instead of veteran packs at 20,000 credits a pop you might have a widow X when you would otherwise have a Widow II but you'd be lacking a carnifax, claymore etc and wouldn't be able to just switch classes.

I'll say it right now: I like the current system.

I really don't like this idea of guaranteed unlocks. Everyone plays for, say, a week, gets everything unlocked, then gets bored because there's nothing left to do. That completely kills the multiplayer.

And I totally agree with you. It makes getting that weapon/race/class you wanted that much sweeter when you finally unlock it.

They just need to make it so that you have a chance to unlock a class and unlocked classes are removed from the pool. That way there are 3 or 4 unlock cards and everytime you unlock a new card (female soldier trollolol) you get closer to unlocking that salarian infiltrator or whatever.
Only problem with that is, character cards you already have also unlock additional customization options.
You take that away and people will complain unless you just give all options on initial unlock.

In regards to modders, if Bioware takes the Bungie approach to modding/hacking doing so would be a bad idea. 'You modded the multiplayer? No multiplayer for you!'
Why is that bad? Have you ever read the EULA that you agree to every time you install a game? Part of that agreement is agreeing to play the game as is, without modifications, unless said modifications are done through DLC or patches from the developer. Why should you be able to mod a game that you agreed to not mod and still play it? Bungie's approach is entirely justified.

30K is way to low, i mean you get in one silver match 20-25K, the whole point of your system will vanish. 100K seems right and even then some random class and race but a guaranteed one.

I probably worded that a bit badly. I was trying to say that if Bioware takes the Bungie approach then modding the game would be a very bad idea. And I do hope that they take the Bungie approach. It's not right if cheating like that is tolerated.

Somaybe a pack for some random class unlock will be there.
Wait and see.
Also removing the random would kill multiplayer, people would jsut pick what they want, play a bit, get bored and move away. Or worse unlock everything in a matter of days, still get bored becuse nothing more to unlock and move away.
Multiple different packs yes, all served on silver plate no.

I would love the option to buy any rare gold for say 300,000 credits thats 6 gold games 10 silver or 20 bronze approx.

This, and/or a crate that costs 100,000 but has a guarenteed gold card in it.
Can't wait to see what they do in the final, full game.

Those wouldn't be modders, they would be hackers. The difference is whilst the ones do modify files to get things, hackers do modify files to gain an unfair advantage. Getting yourself free credits is an unfair advantage, making them hackers, not modders, at least in my books.

This is assuming you EVER get it. With it being random, you could play your whole life, and possibly NEVER get it. At max level in the demo with a smaller pool of items and every non-rare weapon and mod maxed... there are still multiple weapons and classes I don't have. Vet packs give common cards now, and nothing else.
That's random. It's the chance of the RNG &*%$ing you over forever and ever and ever. You want to play as "X class"? Too bad. You can get every other weapon and class in the game till you tire of the bull**** random system and never play again.

day one, everyone will be maxed n7-120 and full gear. Day two everyone will be running with infinite health and ammo. Although the latter will happen on day one as well, since we now had a long time to test the demo. Would you really would want to play a game where everyone but you is unkillable and everyone but you has 10x better equipment.Epic Legion wrote...
Oh come on now, why do you care about hackers in a non-PvP game? Does it hurt you when someone has more credits and bigger lvl than you in Co-Op?

Other than that, I'd really just like that a character class is removed from the pool once the character is lvl 20 with all customization options unlocked. I am so tired of getting the Human Engineer and Sentinel in almost every pack, sometimes even the same one twice in a pack. I still don't have the widow and you know...I'd rather have that than something that is completely useless and making me feel like I just wasted time on a match and a vet pack.
