I invested too many hours into ME2 to not get ME3. And seriously it's not worth it to boycott the game because of an issue that is probably confined to one section of the game.

hey here is an idea: shut the hell up!
i am paying for the game as much as everyone and thus i expect to pay for the same quality. If Bioware wants to sell me a crappy port then let me pay half the price.

You know they're not handing out free copies of Mass Effect 3 right?
You have to pay 60 dollars for it. Scratch that, 70 dollars if you want the wretched day one DLC. We're customers, not children (although some of us do act like them).

well apparently we are talking to a fanboy who hates PS3, as if it will make his life better knowing that people with that console cant enjoy this game. A really sad way to make yourself happy....

Me too. My demo works fine for the most part. The Alliance Coucil part in the beginning is the only place where I get bad framerate but it's still (nearly) bearable.

Hey here is an idea: Don't jump to conclusions before all the facts are in.
The demo plays fine for me. I haven't played the multiplayer, but that's not a feature I'm buying for. Both missions in the demo, the fall of earth and the mission on the Salarian homeworld play fine.
People experiencing problems should check their system settings, TV settings, and in-game settings. The problem might well be a simple fix. Or they could have a tv with a lower hertz than the game plays at. Or they might be using a composite or component cable to play their PS3 rather than HDMI.
I've already rebuked the accusation that ME3 plays at lower resolutions on PS3 by firing up my demo and checking the resolution displayed on my TV. It said 720p HD.

Your TV will always say 720p until you change the outputsignal of your ps3.The Grey Nayr wrote...

It will upscale every game to 720 even if it is 240p resolution.
It is undeniable that the cutscene at earth is running at 22 fps over all.
It becomes slightly better within the gameplay. But I wonder why the scene drops to this low fps even in frames without a high polygon count... There must be a really huge bug or misconfiguration of the engine.

Well considering the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 was the worst among the 3 platforms its no surprise that Mass Effect 3 will be the same. Mass Effect 2 on PS3 still has game crippling issues that were never fixed despite dozens of threads asking for a fix when the game was still relevant. Do yourself a favor and get it on PC. Oh and I forgot PS3 does not have Mass Effect 1 which makes a HUGE difference. I played ME2 on PS3 and thought I did not miss anything by not playing ME1 too until I played ME1 on PC then imported it into ME2 on PC. ME3 will pull over a thousand variables from both ME1 and 2 so makes sense to play them all
Most of people here complaining are not because they are PS3 fanboys, but because they are getting inferior version of the game compared to 360 and PC versions.
They only own one platform and PS3 is their only platform to play ME2 and ME3. They either don't want to spend a lot of money on a gaming PC or can't afford a gaming PC. So, PS3 is the only platform they can play ME2 and ME3.
If you have an option to play the game on your gaming PC, then good for you. But, like many others here, I only have a PS3 as a platform to play ME3 and don't want to spend $600+ for a gaming PC.
I do agree that we will miss a lot of things if not playing ME1, but it can't be helped.

This is irrelevant... completely utterly irrelevant...
This is the PS3 version. Why we choose to play this version is our business and our business alone. It doesnt concern anyone else but us. Just because there is a PC version, that doesnt justify a crappy PS3 version. When a company decides to offer its products to consumers, be it PC, 360 or PS3 they should ensure (when it comes to consoles at least) since they charge for the same price, a parity among the versions.
This isnt a board or a place for people to suggest where we should play ME3, it is a board to discuss the problems of the PS3 version.
And enough with the "you need to play ME1 it makes ME2 and ME3 so much different"... COME ON! Seriously I have played ME1 on PC and the changes/ stuff missing from playing ME2 on PS3 (using the main decisions from the intro) are seriously close to nothing of significant importance...
Sometimes it is just a line or two, big deal.... the trully important decisions are there in the interractive comic. Thats all you need really, you are not missing out a whole bunch of stuff like you guys make it sound.
Anyway this is a place to discuss why the PS3 version is not performing on par. Not a place to discuss which version people should play, as if Bioware doesnt need to fix our problems.

Reason I suggest getting it on PC is because you will not enjoy the PS3 version or you might do if lag, out of sync audio does not bother you

But you're telling us to go and buy a $300 platform. Totally reasonable.Scorpgul wrote...

No matter how many threads you open here the issues will keep rising and will not be fixed I can almost guarantee. Was the same with DAO and ME2 on PS3. So to save yourself all the trouble and disappointment I suggest getting it on another platform. Even the 360 version another cheap alternative is 10 times better than the PS3 version not telling you to go buy a $600 PC
GTFO.

It's unlikely to ever get fixed for the PS3, unless BW promises a patch.

I also thought ME2 was a very good port as well. I only have sound cutting in late in particular cut scenes but it's no big deal. Then again, I guess I'm lucky because I haven't really had any performance issues with my old 80gig fatty.
However, I think if some are, in fact, experiencing frame rate drops that affect their enjoyment of the game then it needs to be addressed. But I have certainly seen worse "PS3 versions" of games than this. Hopefully most of these issues will get ironed out shortly after release.
I'm still buying on day one because everything works fine on my side.
