She's an AI - she can control bodies at will. Her piloting a "standard pleasure model" platform on the battlefield is like you or me going into a  warzone holding a fleshlight.

If it's armored and shielded well enough, it's a combat body that's sexually arousing enough to distract opponents. So who cares?

Her body has more room for armor than most, so she can pull off just as much, if not more, armor and shielding than an organic without altering her physical form. So why make multiple models when you can be both stylish and functional at the same time, with no loss in efficiency?

None of what you said explains how something that is completely ignorant about sex would suddenly want to become physically appealing to warrant sexual attraction from a different kind of being.

"Sighs", like I said, visit the spoiler section, she is certainly not ignorant.

I've read the leak. My argument is that it's ham fisted and it's inconsistent to how AI's actually would develop. Legion is an example of how an A.I. would more likely develop over time.

It's a video game, anything can be made stylish and functional. Doesn't mean its good in convincing you it's practical to the world in which it takes place, and it contradicts what we've already experienced in the game to be a strong functioning robot. If you read the leak, there's a bad explination why she's in a sex-bot, but it's not a good one.

If you've read the spoilers, then you'd know EDI has a distinct advantage over Legion in this area.

She already played a sex-bot.

A badass killer sex-bot, but a sex-bot none the less.

How are husks and indoctrinated Cerebus troopers "distracted" by robot boobs, exactly? In fact, how exactly would a 100% average everyday human trying to kill her be "distracted" by robot boobs?

The point is more that if for some reason you need a "stylish" body as a robot, and for some reason glorified fleshlights are stylish in the future, you can use that body when style is called for and use something made of guns/armor/shields/redundant systems/fists when killing **** is called for. There's no need to pick one.

PM me that leak so I can judge for myself.

I think robots can be made stylish and functional more believably than protective gear for organics, but I've already explained by.

You'd be surprised by how the average human enemy would be distracted by that. It takes a certain level of focus and dedication not to at least notice those things on the battlefield. It may not have a significant impact, but every little bit helps. For a similar reason, one might attempt to appear more intimidating in battle.

As a side note, Soul Calibur players often attempt to work a subtle amount of sex appeal into their characters to distract opponents without being too heavy-handed about it to tip the opponent off to the fact that they're banking on an element of sex appeal to distract them from fully focusing on the fight. I realize that fighting games and military engagement are wholly different things, but human psychology is a universal factor regardless.

Sent, but you should know, everything you've said is directly contradicted in the script.

Military realism? Mass Effect never had that. I disagree with you here vehemently.

ME started as a space opera that built upon sci fi tropes fusing discovery and wonder, relying more on story and atmosphere to present the universe and tell the tale they wanted.

I'm talking APPEARANCE wise. I seem to recall in your many rants about how Ashley can't have make-up and must have her hair tied up. You seemed to be so hell bent on your military regulations for video game characters.

If I wanted sexy I would just go play... Just about any other damn game out in the market. Seriously sexy is so stuffed into all the games lately its gotten BORING for me. Cleavage? Over the top action? Welcome to the generic gaming world at large!

Bioware is no different. Get used to it.

That's the point: BioWare is no different and wants to cash in on sexism. Just because everyone else does it in the industry, does not make it right. If you are going to try and present yourself as a mature company willing to explore mature themes, then it would suit to go above the fold and not try to appeal to some juvenile drooling over CG boobs.

It's not a spoiler, she was disclosed weeks ago. This is why the thread has not been locked while others have.

Haven't read the spoilers. Geth were not designed to be an artificial intelligence. The Geth were designed to be powerful VIs that got out of hand. They started "learning" amongst themselves. EDI, was designed to be an illegal artificial intelligence and has been "learning" amongst primarily humans. Using Geth an an example of how EDI should behave is completely pointless.

That's not a spoiler, that a mental breakdown enabled by an abundance of undeserved wealth, with a dash of pedophilia.
