I'm holding my opinion in all of sentinels because I have yet to play the Turian and the Krogan Sentinel.

Max everything for Melee on the Krogan, go play Bronze ANYTHING. Use a shotgun with a melee mod.

HILARIOUS.

Also, RRRRRRRRRAWR. HAHA.

Yeah, been there done that, amazing fun thing to do,good way to unwind after slogging away on silver/gold.

Tech armor simply needs a little buff.  Maybe reduce its power cooldown penalty and/or increase damage protection.

I often finish first with my Sentinels on Gold, whether it's my Turian or Human Sentinel. Humans having the warp/throw combo (warp bombs) automatically makes it a great class. I only use the Tech armor when I'm going to respawn a teammate or when I'm hacking. Other than that, it's off and I spam biotic explosions.

They are more like a superior support class who will normally end up in the bottom of the score card. But that doesn't mean the class is useless.

I play my male human sentinel as a tank. Full tech armor plus weapon damage and shield/health bonuses from fitness and alliance training, using a geth plasma shotgun with a phalanx as back up. My female is focused on fast cooldowns to warp-throw detonate things.

I was planning on using the turian for tech burst spam, but it's really not working out. I think I'm going to have to respec him to be a heavy overload/warp support character. He's currently toting a mattock but I'll have to see what his cooldown bonus looks like after I get the reduced assault rifle weight.

I have yet to unlock the krogan, but I'll probably be building him as something like a shock trooper.

Wait...
That means that I'm a freak of nature, when I play as Sentinel I usually end up being one of the first 2 on the scoreboard

What are u guys talking about? Human sentinel can do biotic explosion himself, extremely powerful against... well, anything. WHile asari adept is a glass cannon that's very fragile, human sentinel overcomes that weakness. Anyone who says human sentinel is weak definitely need to google "biotic explosion".

Silver, in Gold I play as support and stay more with the group, disabling shields/barriers, so I have to work a bit more to stay on the top 2.

I refuse not to have 6 in my human sentinel.

If I'm gonna have one point in the armor I'm going to have them all. At the worst I have to stick to pistols only. At the best I have 66% more eHP. Oh and petty lights make me happy.

The CD penalty is noticeable but not entirely impossible to deal with. A CD at 200% CDR is only a few tenths of a second shorter than a CD at 120% CDR. And I can always grab a power efficiency module.

Edit: Tech amor penalty should be 60% and purging it should also grant a short defensive buff (such as shield regen like ME2)

I like the Sentinel. With a good Shotgun like the Geth Plasma Gun VII you can become a pretty badass Assault Trooper in Silver.

Altough... fun as it is to play it, it isn't really something I'd drag into a Gold match.

Play human mostly. And the class seems a bit lower on the scale of effectiveness. But t is also contingent on playstyle and what level (bronze-gold). Ranking up tech armor is pretty mediocre as an offensive tool due to double cooldown. But as defense it is decent, I find you need a good weapon (so not newbie friendly) and rank up weapon damage skills. Then warp/overload make decent debuffing powers. You must cannot debuff at thecrate of an Adept or Engineer. But you can do both.

I like the sentinel as well. The human sentinel is great for setting up biotic explosions and my krogan sentinel acts more like a soldier (I don't have krogan soldier) and does fine.

Honestly, playing as a Turian Sentinel gets me in the top 2 almost always, and it's usually 1st place. I can attribute a lot of that to the Geth Plasma Shotgun, as that gun is the sweetest thing ever, but a lot of it is also the Tech Armor that gives me the durability to just wander into enemy groups with my shotgun and start wreaking havoc. The Overload is a really handy assistance ability, too, for that scenario, given that it makes most enemies pause for a moment. Again, though, a lot of that is having an accurate, medium-long-range shotgun that can take most enemies down in 1 or 2 shots.

I agree with u all the tech armor needs a buff. The other thing that pisses me off is your powers have to be on cooldown before you can even trigger a tech armor explosion! That is just fricking stupid! You have to wait for a cooldown to put tecb armor on, and if you use another power you have to wait for cooldown to trigger your armor explosion. That is what needs changing also. Armor should be ready to fire at any time.

Are you kidding me? My sentinel's walking goddamn artillery.

Throwing everything to hell. All I need is a teammate to warp or pull for me. With my adept pal we two-shot brutes on silver.

The problem isn't the Sentinel, its the amount of damage the enemies on Gold inflict. All that damage resistance from Tech Armor only amounts to a fraction of a second more survivability than any other class. Which makes investing points into Tech Armor a fruitless endeavor.

This is also why automatic weapons are terrible in MP. One simply does not have the time to pour clip after clip into an enemy, they need to be dispatched as quickly as possible before the squad is overrun.

It makes you wonder which difficulty level (if any) Bioware tuned to be the baseline.

ANY class and race combination can work

Here's an idea

6 Tech Armor - extra damage reduction
5 Warp - increase weapon damage on the target
3 Throw
6 Alliance - extra weapon damage
6 Fitness - extra shields and health

The weapon can be literally whatever you want as long as you've got good aim. I love heavy pistols personally. This build is good because you're going to survive a lot longer and the weapon damage bonus makes any weapon you bring better. A shotgun would be pretty nasty with this, especially something like the Claymore.

The three points on throw serve the purpose of giving you the ability to do combos whenever appropriate, like on a Banshee, Prime or Atlas. I've done 6/6/6/6/0 builds for a while and while your powers are awesome, survivability becomes a problem. I'd rather survive longer and reduce one power now so 6/5/3/6/6 works better for me.

Cheers

Krogan sentinel Melee and DR build with claymore and something else.

I usually top other people in my groups on silver just running around meleeing everything into oblivion.

While raging does 3 solid bars of armor to a banshee per melee

6/6/6/4/4 is better. There's no point comboing on gold if you don't have detonation bonuses. Just not worth it compared to having the combo bonus.

I find the Turian Sentinel to be awesome. I use him maxing everything out, without touching Warp. I have Tech Armour maxed, but I don't bother with the detonation, the extra shielding helps as a tank. Overload drains shields/barriers very well, and cripples with health targets. Running around with the Black Widow I helps taking things out very easily also. I favor the Turian Sentinel right now over any other class I've been able to obtain and use.

Overload+Warp causes a chian overload effect that's like a mini biotic detonation and stuns nearbny enemies.
