I'm disappointed really, that a lot of the posters here seem to taking the people giving out "leaks" at face value.  What happened to either demanding proof beyond the spoken word or waiting to draw your own conclusions.  We did this dance back with ME2 and no-one who tried spoiling the game then was remotely accurate.  So why all of a sudden are folks so willing to believe what anyone says, despite the bizarre contradictions?

People with the Space Edition are under an NDA, one of the guys who got one, name starts with an X, stated he can't legally give out any spoilers or get into serious trouble since the game isn't officially released yet.

The SA guy also started "leaking" back in November, claiming he had a copy of the game as well.  And at least one person trying to leak here got called by Chris and admitted that he made the whole thing up.  Someone else in a thread here claims to have the strategy guide already, which is also crap because there's no way anyone is shipping you a strategy guide before the game is even out (not to mention he won't show a picture of the strat guide to show authenticity.

In general, a lot of folks are "saying" things, without showing anything that counts as evidence or proof.  And no, using the script leak doesn't count because the script is not only months old, it's not verifiable and can't be checked against anything.

If the people spoiling the game were actually in possession of copies, why don't we see screenshots of the endings?  Obvious these people don't care about legal ramifications for their actions, so why not go the extra mile and give us verifiable proof?

I'll tell you why.  They can't.  So let's be reasonable, rational people and be skeptical of people's hearsay.  After all, we did this number back in ME2, and that didn't produce any meaningful spoilers at all, just people making things up as they went.  I see no reason to suddenly start believing now.

BIG F*ING EDIT: A challenge out there to all you spoilers and leakers claiming to have a Space Edition copy?  If you're really gung-ho about letting people know what's in the game, make your claims irrefutable by making a video.  Doesn't matter how.  Cellphone, video-recorder, capture software, whatever.  Go all the way a prove beyond a shadow of any doubt that you're not just flapping your gums.

If you think about it, nothing being leaked makes sense.

It's completely against Bioware's writing style to suddenly turn and pull a 180 degree shift like "Shepard dies no matter what" or "Only these LIs count."

The leaks don't say that. There is a Shepard survival ending and the LI thing is a bug.

There has been similar bugs in every Bioware release of the past few years. Sometimes it never shows up until import. Conrad Verner in ME1. Dark Ritual for DAO-Witch Hunt. Isabella was treated as a romance erroneously for many people's DA2 ending.

Without the experience of DA2 I might have agreed.

This leaked **** is months old, BW stated that it wasn't the final script. Plus, do you really think that EA/BW would let random guys post their REAL script on forums? Cmon.

I admit I'm guilty of jumping to conclusions and said a few things I regret. There's a lot of stuff floating around right now that's, at the very least, inconsistant. I don't think it's all wrong, but... there's probably more questions than answers at this point...

Except that DA isn't made by the people who did Mass Effect.  Not a valid argument.

Agreed.

Until I actually play the game myself, I intend to take the current forum postings with a good pinch of salt.

Keep clinging on to hope as long as you like. Really not a bother to me.

Unless they somehow convinced Prima to post false endings well...

Except that I refuse to believe anyone with a Space Edition is willing to risk legal action to spoil the game.  The LI thing seems just as stupid.  Conrad's bug was over a minor import error which anyone with a save editor can actually fix for themselves.

Something like and LI flashback, complete with cutscene and voice actor, is a pretty damn big deal.  You'd think someone would notice when "Hey, that's NOT the person I romanced!"

If you're talking about the guy with the strategy guide, I've noticed he offers no evidence that he actually owns the guide, like a picture of it.  Not to mention there's no way a strategy guide ships a week before the actual game.

If there are multiple copies of the game floating around , how can bioware know who is leaking info?

Welcome to the world of QA.

Where everything works fine until a change that shouldn't affect anything affects everything. And nobody thought to look in X spot because that was thoroughly tested for months before. Or the guy who was assigned to test it didn't quite meet the right conditions.

Or they just ran out of time to fix it.

I'm fairly certain the folks spoiling the game are getting reported for it. So it'd be easy for Bioware to know who it is and trace their accounts or something.

Even if that's true, if they're willing to risk legal action by telling us about this "bug", why not post a screenshot to prove it?

I'm trying so hard to hold out hope...

If those ending spoilers do turn out to be true, I'll probably end up finishing the game once just to see them, then quit playing before the final battle if I ever decide to play it again and let my imagination fill in the rest.

This isn't 'PREORDER CANCELLED!' or anything, don't get me wrong.
I just want one happy ending. Is that really so much to ask? I don't care if I have to do every single sidequest in the game to get it, that's all I want.

As sad as it is, according to some of the posts around here, yes, it is too much to ask. I want a happy (edit: even bittersweet) ending too, though I'm trying to hold out hope that things aren't as bad as has been suggested.

If they're space edition leakers, they may not have a capture card.

Got any details on that ? I posted a thread asking in the other forum but Priestly closed it down without an answer.

Then use a cellphone, or a camera.  There are plenty of other ways to take pictures that don't require specific hardware.  The reluctance to show physical evidence is most damning if you ask me.
