EDIT: Still, I have some hope. Originally, I was planning on telling my VS to screw off and take the admiral job, pick Destroy, have Shep live and headcanon there and picking Merge for my other Shepard.

What exactly does the merge ending entail? All your crew lives, Shepard lives, but your crew is stranded?

More like they riped the game for any vids they can find, which would not give a full disclosure of the endings.

It proves that tank was correct when he said that depending on which choice you make the relays glow a different color. He and Xio played the game.

According to all sources: Everyone lives, galexy saved, earth saved - Shep dies.

Details as to the condition of the Relays and the normandy crew deviate from each other depending on the source after that point.

Well...not everybody.  Organics, yes.  Otherwise...no.  If that is completely accurate that such an ending exists.  We are awaiting the NG+ confirmation.

I also have it on good faith from someone who knows ME3 playtesters that there IS a positive ending.  I realize that I'm being slightly hypocritical, given my previous statements, but this friend of mine is someone I trust quite a bit, and he's absolutely certain there's a good ending.

I won't offer his statements into fact, but this friend has never lead me astray before.  I'm going to believe him now.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a guide wrong.  It's also possible the wording in the guidebook doesn't say that but merely implies it.
