I have encountered a strange bug when firing Mattock with my Turian. The effect is sort of like a muzzle climb, only it's "climbing" downwards. Every time I hit a trigger, my crosshair goes down a few centimeres or so and it doesn't reset back to it's original position.

So, I have done some testing and I think it has something to do with "too much" weapon stability that Turians gain via their passive skill, coupled with Stability Damper mod for Assault Rifles (note that the above described bug only applies to Mattock, other weapons I've tested so far, seem to be unafected by it).
The results point to one conclusion, and that is, it only occurs when I use Stability Damper (V) upgrade on Mattock (X). I have 45% weapon stability from my passive and the AR mod gives you an additional 70% stability bonus. So that's 115% stability bonus altogether. I don't know, if that's the sole reason for this issue, but it definitelly has something to do with it.
Also, I didn't experience this issue on any other class/race.

If someone else can confirm this or maybe, if a dev can look into it, that would be great.

Yep, what you've worked out is essentially exactly what is going on. Basically you've got negative stability that's kicking your crosshair down. There have been other threads about this. Not sure if there has been dev comment, but given the level of dev activity on these forums early on I'm fairly certain they must be aware.

Current best advice is to use a different mod.

And incase they aren't, a PM to one of them couldn't hurt.

Negative recoil lol

I don't know why I find that so amusing.

It works with all weapons, its a glitch where when stability passes the 100% marker, it will produce a negative amount (since the stability bonus is "taken away" from the recoil), which in long term, makes weapons have recoil (even though they shouldn't) which will be produced the wrong way. for example, when using the revenant, you tend to bounce all over the place, left, right and up, instead, when the weapon would bounce up and left, the weapon will now bounce down and to the right.

Irritating, but nonetheless, a very easy fix for Bioware to do, I think that theoretically, all they have to do is add a stability cap at 100%, after which, no bonus. If what I think is wrong is correct, that should fix the problem. And it shouldn't even take that long to do, they could easily fix it into the full game if they started now, and have time to take a holiday abroad.

I thought that might be the cause (bonus going into negative). I really hope they fixed this for the final version.

I will PM one of the gameplay devs, hopefully we can get a response.

It's a known bug. I posted about it a week ago. It does it with the Revenant as well. It only seems to happen if you have the stabilizer level V on though.
