Vanguards are dumb

I see it more as annoyance than, "I bow down to your greatness because you just took out 3 enemies down that I was in the process of elimenating myself."
I'm playing to have fun, not to get a couple of shots in on an enemy just to have a vanguard charge in and "save the day." I haven't tried the harder difficulties yet, and I'm going to guess that vanguards do hold some value because of the more demanding team effort, but I'm finding myself exiting lobbies when I notice a high level vanguard.
Oh, and btw, no one make the argument that kills don't matter. If that were the case then vanguard's wouldn't be so agressive to charge into every enemy on the map.
True team mates watch eachother's backs not steal kills.

But I don't sweat it, as this is a team-based game.
KS doesn't mean kill-stolen in this case. It means kill secured.

1- replenish our shields
2- get from a to b (to reach a teammate in trouble/get out of a hot zone/get to an ammo crate/get to an objective)
3- set up a kill
I've played both sides and don't give a damn if someone takes my kill while playing a vanguard, or a vanguard takes my kill while playing another class.
Like you said, it's about having fun. And getting the most kills =/= having fun
Besides, I've had more kills stolen from non-vanguards. They're just not as obvious.

Vanguards on Gold are the best teammates you can have after an Asari Adept. I personally never charge away from my teammates after wave 3 on Gold. Unless I see an Engineer deploying his turret. Then I charge right on, and spam nova + charge, the turret dies before it's ready to fire.
Yes, I do this only if there are no phantoms, atlases, or other turrets in the viscinity. To be honest, the main role of the Vanguard on Gold is to:
1) Cover the chokepoints where your team is bunkered up (charge nova charge nova etc)
2) Revive teammates, or draw aggro to allow others to revive
3) Kill phantoms that are close/asari is down

I don't play Call of Duty. I play Left 4 Dead 2, and I'm a strong team player.Paul Rodney wrote...
So your mad because vanguards steal your kills? stfu what a lame excuse. Its a team based game not call of duty no1 gives a **** about ur kd
And it is not a lame excuse.
Taking down an enemy is satisfying, having a vanguard swoop in and "save me" is not fun.
If I'm being flanked by the enemy and I'm in the process of shooting an enemy in front of me, it's just poor play to charge the enemy I'm concentrating on when they can be cleanning up the flanking enemies.
It's all about being agressive and racking up kills themselves.

Aggressive play is what the class is designed around. A Vanguard that isn't utilizing Charge is usually a dead Vanguard. Play with people that you know, personally, if you want everyone to cater to your personal preferences.Luigitornado wrote...

I'm not doing it to steal your kills, I'm doing it to stay alive.
Also, everyone kill steals, Vanguards are just the least subtle about doing it.

You do realise that it's not always easy to target the right enemy from across the map with a charge, right?
I've been in that situation several times;
teammate surrounded and most likely screwed unless he/she gets help. I charge the first enemy around them I can target, since time is of the essence, then once I'm there I take out the flanking enemies. If I just so happened to target the guy they were working on, so what? I may have just saved them from being downed and missing half the wave anyway.
And it's not like I thought to myself "hehe, ima go steal teh kill!"
No it was more like, "oh ****, he's in trouble, gotta get over there asap!"
Grow up and stop whining about things you think you understand.

Get used to krogans and vanguards mixing it up with enemies in melee because it's not going away. You should be able to adapt to it and if they trivialize content move up to silver/gold.

I am upset that what I'm using isn't as good as what some other players are using. Therfore, I am going to do a huge generalizing sweep against all players who use this strategy, because mine isn't up to par with theirs.
And I'm going to make a thread about it.
I see. Well then, my advice would be to get better at the game. Perhaps change up your tactics.

Yes, they would still be agressive and that's why kills still don't matter. The point is to clean up the map as quickly and efficiency as possible to avoid being swarmed. I've died on bronze plenty of times because either I, or teammates, were too slow and ended up hit from multiple angles. And I'm normally a silver player.
On any difficulty you will die if you aren't careful. Just that simple.
Vanguards disrupt and act fast. It helps keep numbers down and distract enemies to avoid them being able to do things like flank, or grenade you to death. Their charge restores their shields. They are born to charge and bowl things over.
If you're that desperate to be allowed to engage some enemies alone use a mic and explicitely tell your team you'll clear out a certain building, or hold a certain point, or whatever. And ask them to concentrate their efforts on the other doorways/areas for a bit.

They're not 'saving' you, they're doing their job. Is an infiltrator saving you by headshotting some mob you're eyeing?

The phantom directly behind you in the middle of a kill animation I just killed with a perfect (and rare) headshot disagrees with your assessment that my infiltrator cannot save you through headshots.
