It's so unimportant that I find the idea of getting mad at someone stealing your kill hysterical.

The most annoying thing about Vandies is the camera shake. Really, only they themselves should experience it ,not every squaddie in the vicinity.
Gotta agree with this one though. It takes my aim off a bit >.< Happens a few time when there aren't any Vanguards around too. Not sure why.

Funny that!
P.s. do you play on PC or other?

People are jerks. Vanguards or not. They just make it most obvious because you see them in your sights. but I've had more than my share of kills "stolen" by players who shoot an enemy I've been working on.
But I don't sweat it, as this is a team-based game.
KS doesn't mean kill-stolen in this case. It means kill secured.
Some people really can't understand this.

It's also a team game, not Gears or CoD, there isn't a K/D.

My friend plays as an Engineer and CONSTANTLY berates me for Charge>Nova>Melee>Repeat'ing all over. I'm usually pretty smart about what fights I charge into and usually when I die it's because I try to roll away from enemies and wind up glued to a wall somehow. Overall, though, I'd say I'm pretty dang effective at playing my class. But my buddy doesn't care. He'll even go as far as throwing a little fit of rage halfway through a match, and will sit in cover in some far corner of the map while I take on entire waves... only to mock me when I die.
Anyways, he'll complain that I'm stealing his kills and doesn't understand that the game doesn't reward you for kills, but for the damage that you do. Keep in mind, when I'm working on taking down an Atlas, this is the same guy that will bust out a rocket launcher and smoke it when it's down to 1/4 armor. He CRINGES when he sees that my damage output (points) at the end of the match are double his.
To humor him, I played Vanguard the way he wanted me to play it. I rocked a Mattock (not my usual Pistol), and just peppered crap from a far, spamming my only real ranged ability, Shockwave, for crowd control. We made it to round 3 on Silver. The loss was justifiable to him, though, because he had double the points that I earned.
Just to give him a little bit of perspective, I had him play Vanguard for a few rounds. After he understood how the class works, he hasn't made a peep to me and my "kill-stealing" ways.
I just don't get it why people don't understand the role that Vanguards play. Sure, there are people out there who play like morons, charging off into the sunset, getting themselves murdered, but there's a good number of Vanguards that do it right. If we don't play how we were designed to play, we are essentially useless.
I hate to say it, but I'd rather use my class to the best of my ability, win the round, and gain points for my entire group than to sit behind cover and essentially be gimped the entire game.
Don't like Vanguard? Walk a mile in their shoes and see how they roll. Through experience you'll understand why we HAVE to be the roving band of kill-stealing wrecking balls that we are.

I played ME 1 and ME 2 to completion while barely ever even touching the shotgun.
I'm an unorthodox Vanguard. Wasn't even aware of Charge spamming as a useful
tactic til about a month and a half ago. I have no problem with a person using this strategy.
But to me, It's boring to see it happen every 3 seconds, every enemy, every encounter,
the the first thing a person does. That's just lame.
I may use it as a finisher or as an escape move, or for some other strategic purpose.
Not just purely spamming it.
I'm a Vanguard - WHO LOVES GUNZ - Especially Pistols.
CARNIFEX
This Random unlock system is raking me over the coals.
hours and hours and hours of unlocks
Game REFUSES to give me my CARNIFEX.

The term "nobody likes a hero" comes to mind.
Fact is, human vanguards are incredibly powerful/capable in the right hands. The immunity frames associated with their 2 core powers means so long as they can continue spamming them without interuption (Atlas/Phantom grab or latency issues) they can lock themselves in animations that make them invulnerable to damage. The fact that these 2 immortalizing abilities also deal out tons of AoE damage means that while they're out there surviving, they're also laying down tons of kills (picking up a few peripheral targets with their AoE without even noticing half the time).
Being a team game, theoretically, this should be a good thing. A class that can step onto the field and really push the team forward. It should be celebrated. But then envy comes into the picture. "They're killing too fast for me to keep up", "They stole my kills", and so on. No amount of these topics is going to change that. When everyone wants the spotlight, no one likes the star.
That is not the issue, the issue is they eventually die and they are half way across the map and surrounded by enemies you you can't revive them.

Sorry vanguard players, but I can't apperciate your charge in bronze-level difficulty.
I see it more as annoyance than, "I bow down to your greatness because you just took out 3 enemies down that I was in the process of elimenating myself."
I'm playing to have fun, not to get a couple of shots in on an enemy just to have a vanguard charge in and "save the day." I haven't tried the harder difficulties yet, and I'm going to guess that vanguards do hold some value because of the more demanding team effort, but I'm finding myself exiting lobbies when I notice a high level vanguard.
Oh, and btw, no one make the argument that kills don't matter. If that were the case then vanguard's wouldn't be so agressive to charge into every enemy on the map.
True team mates watch eachother's backs not steal kills.
Sorry to say this, but I would certainly not want you on my team. This kind of attitude is kind of silly in a cooporative gaming environment. The Vanguards main job, or at least the job the skills he is given implies is to be upfront in the muck doing damage to enemies and providing a sponge for enemies to shoot at. Maybe instead of trying to shoot his targets, work on lowering the shields of the higher up enemies while he works on the smaller ones to prep them for the vanguard to wipe out. This will help you get the W in your column.
But, It is in the nature of the class itself to be aggressive, that is the best way for a vanguard to assist his team, at least by most standards. But there are multiple ways to play every class, perhaps find friends to play with that suit your gaming style more? Can't really make playstyle demands when you are willingly entering random lobbies. This is how it works sadly.
However, in all fairness, the argument can be made that you deserve to be able to play the game in which way you desire. After all, you will more than likely be paying 50-70 dollars for the game, like a lot of us. So this is your perogitive to be upset by this. But, I would suggest you stick to competitive gaming if that is what you prefer, this type of attitude simply isn't viable nor largely accepted in a co-op setting.
The question must be asked, why are you playing a cooporative game if you seek to compete with your fellow players as opposed to focusing only on assiting the team as a whole? This is largely what this particular game, and co-op games as a whole generally represent.
Please don't take this as a biased post, I don't play Vanguard. Never been the tanking or sponge type of player.
Not trying to be an ass, as I realize this post can easily be interpreted as such, just discussing it, which is why you made a thread to begin with.
