Ever stop to think that vanguards are just playing to have fun as well? And we don't usually charge for the kill, we charge to

1- replenish our shields

2- get from a to b (to reach a teammate in trouble/get out of a hot zone/get to an ammo crate/get to an objective)

3- set up a kill

I've played both sides and don't give a damn if someone takes my kill while playing a vanguard, or a vanguard takes my kill while playing another class.
Like you said, it's about having fun. And getting the most kills =/= having fun

Besides, I've had more kills stolen from non-vanguards. They're just not as obvious.

^^ No need to say more.
I suggest you first try to play as vanguard then you start talking. I really wish to see you playing as one WITHOUT charging, I bet 50k credits you will not pass wave 1

I guess while we're making silly wishes,  wish to see how useful an Asari Adept is that doesn't use Stasis. Maybe an Infiltrator as well who doesn't clock or have a sniper.

Infiltrator without a Sniper is very doable.

I get exp and credits regardless, so I don't care what the vanguard does as long they're not dieing every 5 minutes.

Do people fail to realize this is called 'Co-Op' not PVP?

They do fail at that.

What is this bizzare notion of kill-stealing in a game where all XP and money is shared? Yes even the ''25 kills'' (for example) medals that an individual player receive give XP to the whole team. Not only that, but it's not who makes the kill that matters, it's who does the most damage to the enemy. So useless complaint is useless.

Because it is not fun.

You can act self-riteous all you want, but it comes down to being buzz kill.

I don't even care how many kills I end up getting at the end of the day.

Yet, obviously you do, or you wouldn't have made a thread complaining about that very fact.   There is NO kill-stealing in this game.

You don't even run out of ammunition in this game, there are boxes of them lying around. Kills? Everyone gets some, some don't so much, but as long as they are working as a team it's cool.

It's a team game and Vanguard is part of that team. They do act as one, but their playstyle is so different from other classes. And it's a nice change for all the ranged classes game has to offer, I'm glad Bioware created Vanguard to it's current form.

I just played Vanguard for the first time in the multi-player even though I knew I was going to hate it. It is so counter-intuitive to my play style. It is not easy. You have to have REALLY quick instincts.

The way I see it, the only difference between a Vanguard and anyone else is that you can tell when a Vanguard isn't pulling his weight. If you're a terrible Engineer/Infiltrator/Sentinel you can sit in the back and take the occasional easy kill, good for you. Nobody is going to know that you're only doing half the work. Maybe you just have the lowest score because you've been doing mostly assists, you're such a giver.

When a Vanguard screws up, everyone knows it. And then they post forums about how awful they are.

It isn't the game or the other player's fault that you can't get any kills.

I've played with good Vangaurds, and depending on the class I still do better/as good as them. In fact, I really like them being on my team. They soften up huge groups of enemies, zoom across the map to help you, secure a portion of the map so others can put their attention elsewhere, distract huge amounts of enemies while you do the objective..

I can pull my own wait. All I've been saying is that playing with a high level vanguard on bronze is a buzz kill.

If you want a kill so badly stop sucking and kill the enemy. Don't blame the vanguards for your inability to get kills on bronze. I mean seriously you can't get a kill on easy???? lmao

If you can pull you're own weight then sharing kills shouldn't be a problem, because the Vangaurd is just pulling his.

I think the biggest problem is that you're playing Bronze.

As I said in a similar thread:

I love vanguards, both playing as one and seeing them in action as a  another class. They are like biotic Looney Tunes Tasmanian devils. Image IPB

IMO As long as someone is a good team player it doesn't matter what class they use. In the end we all share the same creds and XP, so there is no need to be envious of someone else's score, kills or whatever.

Why are you playing bronze with other people?

I solo bronze for free when waiting for my friends to come on, we all play together, I have yet to play a game with random's and will likely never will.

Bronze is there to score some quick cash and buy recruit or veteran packs

You think Vanguards are bad? Try playing a game with me on my Krogan soldier, hands down you will rage-quit because i've melee'd every one of your targets and stole your kill. Hahhaha

Sorry vanguard players, but I can't apperciate your charge in bronze-level difficulty.

I see it more as annoyance than, "I bow down to your greatness because you just took out 3 enemies down that I was in the process of elimenating myself."

I'm playing to have fun, not to get a couple of shots in on an enemy just to have a vanguard charge in and "save the day." I haven't tried the harder difficulties yet, and I'm going to guess that vanguards do hold some value because of the more demanding team effort, but I'm finding myself exiting lobbies when I notice a high level vanguard.

Oh, and btw, no one make the argument that kills don't matter. If that were the case then vanguard's wouldn't be so agressive to charge into every enemy on the map.

True team mates watch eachother's backs not steal kills.

Yes because you are playing on bronze, when you play on glad just be glad the enemy is dead.

It's not hate. Vanguards are simply not team players, or at least most people do not play them as such. Do you stay close to the group and only charge when necessary? I doubt it.

I disagree. Bronze is there for I am not sure. Silver is there for quick cash and buying packs.

Bronze is there so you can start out (you know, with level 1 default guns, no mods, and level 1 everything)

The Drell is different. He has no Nova so the temptation to Charge/Nova spam all over the map is not there. In fact every Drell Vanguard I have seen is more conservative and more of a team palyer than the human ones.

I must admit that it must be quite annoying if you freeze an enemy, you're in the middle of a heavy melee and I charge there with my Human Vanguard either because I'm just charging at everything I see, or because I'm desperately trying to reload my shields after a Nova.

Either way, the Vanguard gets rather useful as a team player at around Silver Wave 5 and especially above 7, or at least I try my best to make a benefit for them.

After all, the goal is to win.

not hate? then why can't someone give a positive to a vanguard without you trying to shove a negative down their throat. also the only way a vanguard can be a teamplayer while staying true to its intended playstyle is to disrupt the enemy forces and take the enemies focus away from the rest of the team so even a vanguard that is just going for kills is being more of a team player then a infiltrator just going for kills infact if your charging at all your always doing the vanguards intended team role.
