It's not hate. Vanguards are simply not team players, or at least most people do not play them as such. Do you stay close to the group and only charge when necessary? I doubt it.

I do. But sometimes charging enemies is the neccessary thing to do.

I must admit that it must be quite annoying if you freeze an enemy, you're in the middle of a heavy melee and I charge there with my Human Vanguard either because I'm just charging at everything I see, or because I'm desperately trying to reload my shields after a Nova.

How is that different to an Asari who Stasis'ed an enemy, casts Throw to detonate, but before Throw hits someone else killed the target with a headshot?

Oh, and btw, no one make the argument that kills don't matter. If that were the case then vanguard's wouldn't be so agressive to charge into every enemy on the map.

True team mates watch eachother's backs not steal kills.

So you are saying that when I play adept and I get over 75 assists and don't even get 25 kills, I can blame every one else for stealing my kills, when it is shared experience and credits as long as they don't quit?

I can understand your dislike of vanguard, some players can't play it well.  That doesn't mean because you have had a few bad experiences, you should descriminate against people who choose to play as one.  I mean it is 1/6th of the available characters to play, and I think BioWare did a decent job balancing it, especially for their first multiplayer game.  Bravo.

Regardless of the class, kill steals will happen.  There was one time I didn't get a single kill because an infiltrator kept finishing off the people I would charge.  It was great teamwork.  That is what the game is about, teamwork.
Another time with an infiltrator, I was working with him as a low level adept, and we got overwhelmed hacking and he just cloaked and left.  Didn't even bother to tell me, and I died.  He then stood over my body and let someone crush me.  Should I let that experience make me hate that class?  No, I am not five years old.  I play online, I know that  things like this will happen, I know that I wont always get to play with good and friendly characters, that is part of playing online.

Just my 2 cents.

TLDR Version: Don't descriminate, act like and adult if you want to be treated like one.  You are playing online, don't be a jerk to others.  Stop the spread of jerks on the web.

What is this bizzare notion of kill-stealing in a game where all XP and money is shared? Yes even the ''25 kills'' (for example) medals that an individual player receive give XP to the whole team. Not only that, but it's not who makes the kill that matters, it's who does the most damage to the enemy. So useless complaint is useless.

Because it is not fun.

You can act self-riteous all you want, but it comes down to being buzz kill.

I don't even care how many kills I end up getting at the end of the day.

This entire thread was started because apparently do you care.  I am not being self-righteous, just stating my opinion.

Somedays I can get 100 kills in a match, and sometimes I don't even get 25, and I am sure there are times I get less than 5.  Sometimes you just need to deal with it.

You should on silver and must on gold.  I have saved my team countless time by being able to charge over and get enemies that have them pinned down.

Because its not team work unless they are standing right next to you.

Because a Vangaurd across the map distracting all the enemies while the rest of the guys do the objective is selfish.

Because me charging the enemy that downed you just so I can revive you after is not helping at all.

Beause me taking a part of the map so others can put there focus elsewhere is selfish.

You must have been playing with some people that are not very good. That is not a fault in the class, but in the player using it. I would susspect that the more "Nooby" players tend to use Vangaurds, Krogans, etc. is because of there close range orientation. It is a lot easier to melee than it is to shoot, but it also explains why they go down so much. They don't know what they are doing.

i play adept and vanguard and really havin two or more adepts will have the most kill "stealing" bc one will set up with a singularity or warp and another will get the explosion bc they have a power already ready and dont have to wait on a cooldown and even if someone swoops in and gets the last bullet in you still get the most points its just called an assist instead of kill

Have you ever played as a Vanguard?

Just because your lining up a shot, or have shot someone a couple of times already, does not mean you have a divine right to kill them. Anyone can kill anyone. If it has a pulse and works for Cerberus its fair game

A Vanguard has as much righ to take a kill as you do, if you don't like it or don't find that fun, then you simply need to get faster and better at the game

Honestly these days if I am playing with lots of Vanguards, I will just sit back and do nothing, since they do all the work anyway. Free Credits for no work, lol.

and charging only when neccesary whats that about its our staple power it'd be like tellin an infilitrator to only cloak when absolutely neccesary i cant tell you the number of times i've been right next to someone almost had them dead only to watch their head explode its really not a big deal just move to the next target and maybe learn to kill faster if it bothers you that much.

lol funny i tend to do the same, if i join a lobby and notice 1 or more vanguards i will just switch to my support class / setup. either sit back and snipe, or just stasis enemys and wait for them to charge and give me an explosion kill :P.

personally dont mind them, as i fell in love with the class myself while playing ME2. however, since there is a surplus on the MP i have never once played vanguard lol. i only play a race / species if im the only one in the lobby, kind of weird i guess but i like being original :P.

*as long as the vanguards dont charge away from the objective rounds where all 4 of us need to be hacking, im fine. in that case they usually fall down trying to solo infinite spawns like a morron, you deserve to spectate..

Vanguarding requires less skill than most classes; I have beaten gold with a two man team, no Vanguard, just an Infiltrator and Engineer. The ME2 Vanguard required skill, the ME3 is just a button spammer.

Infiltrator or asari or krogan soldier requires more skill on gold than vanguard? u y mad?

And your example itself says otherwise. Infiltrator is the easiest class to play with who followed by asari...

This, Asari Adept w/ Sniper Rifle? Stasis->Headshot->
Stasis->Headshot->
Stasis->Headshot.

Vanguard actually has to make choices whether to heavy melee, shoot or cover, after dropping Nova. It also has to make a choice of where to charge safely.

Asari Adept is just laughably easy in comparison.

Exactly.

There are lot's of vanguards out there does nothing but "charge+nova, charge+nova(oups died! Now how did that happen?). They're even unaware that they can cary a pistol without cc penalty.

As i play vanguard i slowly realized that i have to be realy flexible. Nova shouldn't be used if enemy can be killed with weapon or melee, grasp should be used as well(I'm yet to see another vanguard other than me that grasps her enemies.) and most of the time running to the enemy is the better option (than charging).

People who play asari and infiltrator calling vanguard as "the least skill needed class". Oh the irony...

It's fairly well known that high-risk, high reward classes are often consitered a hated/dumb class by people who don't understand the mechanics around it.

Btw, Vanguard being a team player can also mean charging headlong into the enemy - are you being a team player by providing the Vanguard with the support s/he needs? If the area around me isn't exploding in ally gunfire, biotics and gernades after I charge, the problem isn't me.

Look no further, you have found another grabber! And essentially a Vanguard that plays exactly like you described it. Please, be a woman so I can marry you!

Just an addendum to this topic...vanguards become your greatest friends when you are swarmed by reapers. That is all.
