Seriously. Building up with such good experiences only to dump everything is worse than simply having a mediocre experience in the first place.

Yes, the destination is equally as important as the journey (though the destination does not have to be a literal physical place, obviously), because otherwise the journey has no purpose. It can't even be called a journey at all. Even a Knight Errant has a destination--the state of mind and action where they stop to help every wrong they see and then continue on.
Samara has a destination (aside from killing Morinth); the successful occupation of being a justicar, and the ideal of ridding the galaxy of evil (as the Code defines it).

I've yet to see a "memorable moment" that happened outside a cutscene or conversation that wouldn't have been FAR more impactful and memorable if they were in a cutscene or conversation.

Fairly certain that he meant not all the cutscenes/conversations with a specific character are going to happen in the same place, ala what happened the last two games. As in, not every conversation with a squadmate will take place in that one area of the ship where they ALWAYS ARE for some reason. He didn't mean having moments outside of cutscenes or conversations... whatever that means. Squad banter?
Anyway, I like the direction the relationships are going.

To be honest, though, if I knew where every road would end ahead of time, I’d probably be tempted to take a detour every now and then. But at what cost? Just how much would I change to achieve a certain outcome in my life and relationships? That brings me to an even more common inspirational saying: “It’s not the destination—it’s the journey”.

Part of us hungers to have the answers in our hands, but part of the magic dissapears when you've already heard/read/seen it for yourself ahead of time.
It's really good to see major steps being taken to improve on the romances. There are many great things about the Mass Effect series, but I'd never really been impressed(outside of a few instances) by the romance options from the trilogy. Dynamic romantic interactions sound like a breath of fresh air.

In a story, you're remember the end the most. And if it makes you rage, then you forget about the journey you made to the ending because it seems pointless.

I do have a question for Mac, or possibly Chris. It's related to character interactions, for sure. But it might be a bit technical. Jack. As a male who was nice to Jack, she became interested in me even when I tried to shoo her away from that subject. Therefore, completing the last conversation with her in ME2 makes her very mad at Shepard because you're forced into rejecting her or becoming involved with her. If you reject her, she treats you badly every future time you meet her in ME2. Is this just because she takes time to get over things? If I complete the conversation, will she be mad in ME3? Or if I want to remain on good terms with her, should I leave the last conversation incomplete?

I have to do that as well. I thought I was going to be able to not do it for ME3, but I decided I needed to know where I was going before the end...part of me wishes I didn't, but I know now that I'm going to be much more okay with what's gonna happen when I play it than I would have been had I not known.
