I kinda read this as "we couldn't come up with a good ending"
The journey and destination are locked together and both are equally important.
Indeed.

He has a point but I can't shake off this feeling that the spoilers from that 'messed up ending' thread is true.

Of course it is because of the endings.

Way, way too much.
Just chillax for a moment. This blog post is empty, so drawing conclusions from empty information is silly. And has nobody noticed the 'Partial Nudity' in the ESRB rating list? There's going to be some 'ending' somewhere, if that's what you're looking for.

In a video game, the destination matters as much as the journey. In a video game where you have choices, people want to have the option to have the happy glowy romantic ending. Some people want the bad ending, some want the bittersweet ending.

This, just this.
And yeah, bring moar passive-agressive damage control measures please, cause you know it's gonna hit the fan.
It's nothing wrong with bittersweet endings, but it is a big deal in a game where "choices" were supposed to matter.
Matter much eh.. just like ME2, a big all for nothing.
What's next? Did it all happen in someone's dream?

With that Quote, I'd like to throw in another quote of important note...To be honest, though, if I knew where every road would end ahead of time, I’d probably be tempted to take a detour every now and then. But at what cost? Just how much would I change to achieve a certain outcome in my life and relationships? That brings me to an even more common inspirational saying: “It’s not the destination—it’s the journey”.
Cortez: So my secrets are being revealed, are they?
April: I wouldn't say that, because you're still a mystery to me. More so.
Cortez: Good. You see, señorita, mystery is important. To know everything, to know the whole truth, is dull. There is no magic in that. Magic is not knowing, magic is wondering about what and how and where.
Part of us hungers to have the answers in our hands, but part of the magic dissapears when you've already heard/read/seen it for yourself ahead of time.<snip?
I really liked this article and appreciate the effort it must take along with the pressures and the hard decisions to write so many layered stories and weave them into a cohesive non-stilted narrative. Overall I've enjoyed the ME series... aww who am I fooling? I've adored the series. I'm hopeful ME3's journey along with the final destination (eventually) are an evolution of many of its best elements.
Look forward to finding out soon anyway....
