I hope they did do the characters interactions as well as this blog claims, but at the same time, I'm afraid they did. Think about it. If the leaked endings are true, how much more will it hurt when our games end and there's nothing we can do that really makes any difference?

In this case, the journey will make one hell of a difference ... for the worst.

I'm 99.9% certain they're true. People went as far as to dig through the game files for verification. Unless BioWare purposely launched incomplete copies of the game into space, which I can hardly fathom, I don't see how they could have anything else up their sleeves. If it's in the game files, people will find it.

It's small comfort, but it's quite likely that in a few days you won't be the only one who feels that way.

Ha! This is fantastic. I usually just lurk the Dragon Age forums and thought things were negative over there. But things here put that to shame. Its great!

Its like Dragon Age was the relative that passed away a year ago and the death is coped with. Here, its like they just dropped dead yesterday and people are still hysterical.

It makes me giddy with feelings of impending doom and disappointment!

That's why we're all Bioware fans, right? We all secretly love emotional sadism in our games?

The journey is important. So is the destination. If the destination is over a cliff into the grand canyon, the journey was a wast of time, just find a local bridge.

I'm not looking for an ending showing Shepard and LI sitting on the porch watching their grand kids, but I do want one ending where I can imagine that this is what happened years after the final battle. Just one ending with hope or sadly I'll just go back to Jade Empire, KOTHR, ME1 and ME2 placing ME 3 with the games I no longer play.

You better get those old games out than because unless they have some new ending dlc well there is no hope.

Yeah, sorry, I'm not biting that whole “It’s not the destination—it’s the journey” deal.... destination matters just as much as the journey, in my eyes.

Not gonna lie, the blog post sounds like 100% marketing speak...

I really can't take it sincerely, and I really don't think the subplots will really play out like that at all. In both ME1 and ME2 conversation played out the same regardless of which dialogue option you chose- Shepard had a different line, the character had a single line responding to it (If we're lucky), and then it went back to the standard path. Unless that system has fundamentally changed, and different choices actually make different dialogues- and let's be honest here, that's a little unrealistic to expect- I really don't think the claims that blog post makes can be true.

Also.

Is it just me or the emphasis on "Its not the end its the journey!" kinda making me feel like they are pre-empting disappointment in the conclusions? Probably entering tinfoil hat area here.

I have them sitting on the table.  :)  I'll go back to Skyrim if ME3 disappoints.   My husband told me to cancel my pre-order, but I'm going to wait play it myself and then just not pre-order future games.

It’s not the destination—it’s the journey

because

a. you get benefits frome the journey itself
b. it defines the destination

so in the case that the destination itself is not desireable and negates the benefits from the previous parts of the journey it does matter, after all its part of the journey. ;)

@mopotter: same here :)

The journey is nothing without the destination.

Take your favorite story and flip the ending 180 degrees. Luke Skywalker joins the Sith at the end of ROtJ. Elizabeth and Mr Darcy don't end up together. Hans Gruber kills John McClane. Is the story as good? Was it worth investing in the story?

The destination IS the story.

Not only would the story have been as good in those scenarios, it would have been BETTER.

Haha! As soon as I read that 'destination' thing I thought people might latch onto it.

Rightfully so though...

As for the rest, I've read flowery promises like this before in pre-release bioware interviews. Mostly it turns out to be not true (DA2 the worst offender in this).

So I'll believe the dynamic relationships when I see them.

I asked ME3 lead writer Mac Walters if he'd like to say a little about the romances in Mass Effect 3 and why they are, who they are and so forth. Mac, being a cagey sort, was a little evasive as he and Casey don't want to reveal too much before fans experience it for themselves. Still, he was willing to talk about what the writers want you to expereience if you choose to persue a romance in Mass Effect 3, and why we'll not be revealing more about romances before launch.

Read The Roadmap to Love and Happiness

So....

the man i love is falsely accused of commiting a crime..i spend 6 -7 years fighting the system, trying to get evidence, trying to  prove he's inocent....on the way to achieve my goal im getting stronger, becoming a fighter, realising how the system works, endure all the pain, understand human  nature...(the journey)......and in the end i mamnage to prove his innocence......
The day of his release, im awaiting happily outside the prison   for the reunion (the destination) and he gets hit by a car the mom he gets out........lolol....the joy........journey was good yes but im being left emotionaly handicapped....hmmmm

The reason Bioware had been getting all these hardcore fans all these years was not the fact that  they were making  just games ppl can play ( im a gamer...i can also play tetris if  no other game is out that im gonna be interested in ) but that they were making games ppl were becoming attached  and investing in playing a certain character.....investing in companions and role playing........they are losing that....well......

Lets say the journey with bioware was worth it so far but the destination is not what  i would like it to be.....

He has a point but I can't shake off this feeling that the spoilers from that 'messed up ending' thread is true.

Well i hope shepard gets many of these moments coz he/she is going to need them ...eternity alone is a long time...the more the better lol

I do hope that ot romance someone ME3 you will have to do more than just talk to people in general. I was kind of shocked how easy it was to romance anyone in ME2 you just talk to themm a few times and than they would asume that you talk to them because you would like to have sex with them. I mean yeah why would any talk to anyone without wanting to have sex with them? Basicly it looks like Normandy is full of ****s or everyone just loves Shepard and hopes to have sex with him/her at some point in their lives

Making an epic journey is no excuse for crappy endings. It's true the journey is important, but let's not forget that your journey is dictated by your desired destination.

The "Roadmap to Love and Happiness" leads to a dead end. Literally
