If I can try and summarize. So according to the info so far:

All six endings result in the relays being shut down/blown up/whatever
Normandy and crew gets stranded on another planet for some reason
Shepard either dies, or is seperated from his/her friends and LI.
Even the supposed "Golden Ending" that Casey assured apperently ends on a down or bittersweet note.
Source of info comes from the Space Editions and some guy from Something Awful.

So, yeah. Looking at this, on paper, I can definetely see why people would be so upset at how the endings apperently turn out. Even in spite of all your efforts, the best victory seems to be rather hollow. With galactic civilization sent into a new dark age and Shepard likely to never see his/her friends again.

Still, like I said, this is what we know so far on paper, we don't exactly know how the script will end up translating on the actual game itself. I mean, for all we know, the golden ending could result in the destruction of the relays, but I suppose if the Galactic Readiness meter was high enough, their will still be some sort of infastructure for the other races to build a new society and form of galactic travel without depending on the tech of the Reapers, and perhaps the ending results with the Normandy crew being found, and eventually Shepard as well. Course, we also hear the final epilogue speech is the same in all six endings, which in of itself, is kind of baffling.

I know nothing I say will calm people down, thought that is not my intention. I am just merely trying to understand the heart of this matter.

"Course, we also hear the final epilogue speech is the same in all six endings, which in of itself, is kind of baffling."

This, and a few other minor details, are what make these new ending leaks hard to believe.

Chances are everything we've heard is between 80-90% correct, with details fudged.

I'm struggling to understand what could the motivation possibly be for why the Normandy and Shepard are suddenly stranded on another planet when they were fighting on (or at) Earth. Why did the writers feel the need to ensure that no matter what you do, you're boned. I'm really getting tired of BioWare's tendency to do these 'Everything sucks no matter what you do' endings.

I'd wager you'd be correct. Like I said, reading the story from a script or another peson's account makes it difficult to truly make your own judgment or assumption.

I dunno, blame it on the people who complain about "I'm sick of Disney Happy endings", and BW wanting to cater to their interests?

No matter what, you will never please anybody.

They did the same with Dragon age 2. You had 2 endings, either you sided with the mages or the templars, but in the end the endings were the same.

- All the mages in Kirkwall die.
- First enchanter turns into an abomination.
- You're challanged by meredith.
- You flee kirkwall.
- All your companions leave your side (except for your love intrest).

To me BioWare is doing this out of pure lazyness.

What happened to the leaked scripts that had a happily ever after ending. Did Bioware just do a 180 on us all of sudden?

Maybe Shepard and the Normandy crew create a master race on this remote planet by integrating themselves with the Normandy forming the Normpards. They then blast off into space, start enslaving other worlds one by one, forcing them to either merge with machines or die. Then when the fleet becomes large enough they eradicate all forms of intelligent life, until a hero rises from the ashes, a baby, strong enough to stand up against the master race of Normpards. This baby must find allies across the megaverse all the while avoiding the Normpards destruction.

The leaked script NEVER had a sunshine/bunnies ending.  Allow me to summarize what was NOT in the script:

1. Relays being destroyed no matter what (this was exclusive to "destroy the Reapers")
2. Flashbacks to Joker/Hackett/ME1 LI
3. Normandy being marooned
4. Same epilogue speech for every game

I'm starting to think I shouldn't even bother with playing this game. I love ME and have my CE paid for. However, if this is just a major let down after all the hard work as a paragon only to have a lame ending then whats the point? Why play the game if all the ending just end up letting sheppard get screwed over? This is just to disappointing.

According to Matriach Aethyta in ME2, construction of new mass relays is possible. All is not lost then.

There is a whole other thread, which has revealed that the person that leaked all this info was angry QA tester that was fired, take everything with a grain of salt. With that said, this QA tester is supposedly some sort of god like internet troll that is to be "revered"

Ah yes, Tank. The angry qa tester who got fired and now spreads "true" spoilers. We have dismissed that claim.

From what I heard, the leaks from SA are for the most part legit, then again, as always, it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

I'll post here, the same thing I posted in the other thread.

The whole problem is. IF these endings are real, which I HOPE NOT, it doesn't matter a single piece of c*ap what you do during the 3 games. You can just forget your saves from the last games and start straight into ME3 and choose whatever option in the dialogues, do whatever the he** you want, the endings will most likely be the same: Shepard dies to save the world. Then the credits rolls with "I don't wanna miss a thing" from Aerosmith. It's not just a bad ending for Shepard and crew no matter what, it's bad to the point that everything was just railroaded into the same cr***y endings. And for those saying that "at least Shepard saved the galaxy", the same guys that spread these "ending rumours" THAT I REALLY HOPE ARE JUST A STUPID TROLL ATEMPT, said that in the epilogue, no matter what option you take, you'll just delay the technological singularity, even in the "merge/synergy" ending.
BUT, there are lot's of holes in those rumours. Some things contradicts others, so I just hope it's all bull****.

I have not seen one single screen shot, or video, I don't think the leaks are real. Honestly, until there is something to back it up, I am good on waiting until I play the game to find out.

If shepard dying is an easy and multiple option to take, then how are they going to market the DLCs. I remember it being said that there would be extensive DLC.

If this is in fact true, Bioware have just taken the guts of what Mass Effect is all about, and ripped it out and handed you the remainder.

At least i will enjoy 99% of the time, right before the f---ing s---y ending.

The same way both Dragon Age games did it.

Supposedly FTL travel is done too as all Eezo based technology is destroyed.  This is pretty much the end.
