I have been dredging through all of the scripts available in the toolset trying to find out where the UI display for the ability (and subsequently skills) page is handled. Creating an ability with no pre-req ability ends up fine, with the ability listed in the correct spot, setting a pre-req of the 4th Tier causes the ability to be 'off the page' of the UI, and thus unselectable by nomral means.
I found no mentions of max ability rank, or any sort of 'real' UI code that describes the interface for these pages. I was hoping someone had seen/found where this is handled, or had some knowledge on how to extend the ability tier's in the spellbook (scaling the icons down, scaling the page in the horizontal, adding a scroll bar, or even an indented 'sub-tier' would suffice).
I hope it is not defined in script.ldf (or lower)...

didn't try that one yet - but you could try a "fix" like assigning a different guitype to the 5th Tier+ Abilitys (they should be in a new Category on their own then)
+ enable the new category once the 4th tier is learned
+ enable the new category once the 4th tier is learned

I had to redo my toolset install, well maybe not 'had' to, but I did delete the char_stage area from my SQL database, so.... I will try this out when I remake my abilities. On a somewhat related note, is there any way to read script.ldf (or script.nss, whatever its called in human-readable-form)?

script.ldf is just a text file - just unpackage it from packages\\core\\data\\scripts.erf using the toolset.

This makes a good workaround for now and a fairly simple one. I didn't bother trying to disable/enable it based on the pre-req. There is no clear indication what its pre-req is, so you will have to include that in the description string for clarity. You could even name the new gui section "Advanced Primal" or 'Extended Primal' to make things even clearer. Thanks for the insight

I forgot to say thanks
