I havent read the endings but, well after hearing this, you dind't expect to simply send the Reapers to oblivion did you? :wizard:

Considerig there is no "Reapers win" ending their words are sorta hollow. No I didn't expect or hope to win easy. I just hope we don't get some frankenstein shocker emo thing like in DA2 with Hawke's mom.

I thought Bioware said there would be a Reapers win ending a while back. Did they change their minds?

I agree mostly, but, ITs not like everything you ever heard someone tell you before ended up being completly true. The fourms are an odd place, when good news comes, its like everyone is reluctent to beleive it, and skeptical, now when bad news comes, everyone is quick to jump right on it and assume its true.

I hope the people in the spoiler group haven't done everything right. I know this game isn't the type of game that has a happy ending but I'd like one anyways. However I do remember some dev saying that the endings weren't going to please everyone.

As for whoever said that BioWare didn't add all the endings to the space editions, I honestly don't think they would do that. Unless the best ending somehow gets unlocked after the game is released but I don't know that they would do that or how they would do that.

They probably figured it'd upset the fans if all life in the galaxy was indeed annihilated.

Wait, so just to put this in mathimatical terms,

An emotional ending, where I assume, the bad guys are gone, FOREVER, thats billions of years of lives saved, at a Relatievly minor cost.= A subpar ending thats stealing your money, That mind you the CONSUMERS are still willing giving them.

Wait, I think it can be simplefied more.

You disagreeing with the ending to a single series  = A horrible greedy money stealing industry.

They're being sarcastic. Saying that you're willing to pay for better written pieces of the story that should have been there tells the developer that it's fine to write sub standard stories because people will pay paragraph by paragraph in order to have a tailored ending. If the writing was better in this script, no one would think of paying for a better ending.

By the sounds of it most people want a happy ending, not just a better written one, which is all im trying to say, something being different or not what was expected dosent equate to bad quality. Besdies, i dont know about you guys, but if you've ever read the last page of a book, compellty out of context before reading the book, its going to seem bad/not make sence/ odd. Or at the very least, you cant appreceite it the same without being into the book, and read up to the part sucked into the book, or game while you experiance it. Reading something out of context really dosen't accomplish much besdies spoiling you, and giving you perhaps false impressions.

I can tell you, as most people who read the leak and played the demo, the writing leaves much to be desired.

The leak was released in mid November last year. with five months do you honoestly think they could write, record, animate, and master anything of significance in time to be made gold by February considering there were many other things for them to be working on?

Well, yeah, but I always figured there'd be a Reapers win ending that wasnt supposed to be canon just like there was the non-canon Shepard dies ending to ME2.

I wouldn't pay them for better endings.

I'd almost go as far as to say I wouldn't pay them for the game as it is. I will, as I'm not enough of a doomsayer to yell pre-order cancelled and cry in a corner.

But I am seriously disappointed by what the writers did with the ending of such a fantastic trilogy. Seriously disappointed.

Like Dave said, buying DLC that fixes something that should have been the most sharply honed part of the game to begin with sends the message that we are all morons with fat wallets. Besides, the writing team hasn't exactly inspired me to trust they COULD fix this trainwreck.

There is the possibility that the people with the space edition haven't found all the possible endings though, right? I just find it odd how they dug up so many endings that quick.

There is no "one Reapers win" ending. But there is definately "Reapers Win". It's just an across the board thing. Reapers win.

I've read the endings, and it's too simplied right now to judge too harshly. If everything we've seen is true (I pray to Newton it isnt), and not over simplified, we're in for a real tragedy in terms of the franchise.

I hope I didnt give anything away. "Victory' is possible"

Shakespeares tragedies didn't have multiple choices, and you didn't work hard to achieve the "best" outcome

(I say "best" becuase in no way does that ending deserve any indication of being worth achieving)

I probably actually would buy a ending DLC, if only becuase I havent invested so much time into the series to be given these pieces of **** for endings.

That's only with stories with well know plots. What of tragedies that permeir for the first time?  No one knows it's a tragedy then. Do you think people booed the first time they showed Hamlet because everyone died?

No they are not. I don't remember someone's mom being cut to pieces and put together again and reanimated as a cheap shot shocker moment in Shakespear's. It's tragic, though. I am not against drama and tradgedy. It is just a question of feeling accomplishment at least if you played through a game. I mean beating the Reapers obviously isn't the big thing because we always knew we would do it. What's important now is what remains. And honestly, if I have to sacrifice races/people/places then I'd like to have a choice at least. If things just go down inevitably it makes your whole struggle seem a bit pointless. From a gamer perspective.

I know how to read a script, it's written as a standard script, there's no way to read it out of context unless you're skipping huge chunks. The issue people have with the fan service stuff is that it contradicts earlier choices, cannon lore, and/or its forced into the story to the point where it is illogical.

The fact that it's an interactive piece is irrelivent. I rather have an impact full story then one that warps around feeble  unrealistic  out comes.

Well that's what I fear most. If my favorite squadmate is going to sacrifice him/herself I at least expect it to make sense in the situation. If on top of the loss it is a stupid move then I am going to ragequit for sure.

[/quote]It was not a line from line scene from scene script...It was not even in order. I wasn't even the entire script.

But then you need to read a good book or watch a good movie. The point of RPGs is that the player makes decisions that change the story.

ugh we may have been looking at different "scripts" here but that thing most definetley did NOT read like a standard script, I wouldn't even call that a script it didn't even tell you which character was talking.
