Doing the Orzammar quests for a second time now, i began wondering:
In dwarven culture, if you have two paragons, would the elder paragon outrank the younger?

Why would they need to outrank each other, they are not necessarily kings or great leaders.
I think that the one with the greater accomplishment would outrank the other in that case though.

That's hard to say--Paragons are so rare, for two to be alive at one time must be a highly unlikely occurrence.
I suspect if they disagreed it would cause civil war.

I snicker abit when the legion of the dead commander tells you you're about as likley to find a dozen paragons as one, when not 20 minutes later you find two of them.

My point is exactly, that you do find two paragons, Branka and Caridin.
Now they quite obviously disgree on how things should be done, but which of them would be right, by dwarven standards?
Ofcourse dwarves dont really care about logic, so it comes down to who is more honourable or who outranks the other.

Well, Caridin is the more senior of the two, but I don't think one would outrank the other. As mentioned it'd probably result in civil war. That's one way of settling the argument´.
