I had the problem DJStarstryker mentions with Amazon, pre-ordered Skyrim but got it the following day. They gave me a postal refund, thankfully. Where you live obviously affects the speed of things, and since Amazon are 99% of the time awesome with delivery dates, I went back to them. So far, ME3 delivery date is Friday 9th, I'm UK so that's still good.

;o sounds like bull... surprised they couldn't do it on their end for you instead of making you take the risk.

Here's how it usually works (for me atleast)

I pre-ordered a game from Amazon. They dispatch it before the release date and you will receive it either a day before, on the same day or the day after. So I'll probably get my copy of ME3 on release date (9th UK) or 10th

May be bull on their end, but I spoke to two different individuals and they both said the same thing.  The option to change it to release date delivery won't be there if it was not there initially.  Since that option was added at a later date it doesn't exist in my order options, that is why you have to cancel and re-order.

Well how fast its delivered also depends on where you ship it to.

For example, I can't get release day shipping (as in get it on release day) because I ship to a P.O. box. As such I have to settle for the 3-5 day shipping speed.

Otherwise amazon says they will ship on the 6th.

Anyone ever done Amazon's Release Day Delivery before (/have they had it before?)? I've never done it, and am wondering if it actually works out.

The one time I pre-ordered from Amazon, they shipped it the night before launch (I'm in the US). So I expect them to start shipping sometime Monday.

I picked release day delivery, but...well, it's still there and it still says it will arrive on the 6th, but they haven't shipped(not a big deal, they can ship tomorrow and it will still get here on time) but they haven't charged me for it yet, either. Not that I'm worried about the cost because I have more than enough. I'm just concerned that they haven't charged me this close to release. It makes me wonder if there's a problem.

Amazon used to ship early but the publishers cracked down on them for it. For the most part they ship a day in advanced.

I've heard them say the same exact thing and be wrong for multiple releases now (as in people magically get release day). I find that Amazon support staff are generally clueless so I don't even bother with them.

Mine (Amazon US) says it ships on the 7th, expected delivery date is 9th-14th, this $25 priority international shipping better be worth it.

For my ME2 CE (also from them), I got it 2 days after release date but that's for a US postal address.
