Judging from the rage in this forum TODAY particularly, what do you guys think the consequences bioware will receive from its fan if ME3 falls short of expectation(which seems to be the vibe here). Will the company goes bankrupt in the future because of fan desertion, or Bioware learning from its mistake and redeem itself(which is surprising since they didnt learn from DA2) or will they just ignore the problem and start another franchise?

What is this about ME3 failing? Those two words do not compute together. It's impossible for ME3 with everyone having different opinions.

Give me a day there has not been rage on the BioWare forums. These or the old ones?

Go back under your bridge.

The same thing that happened after Dragon Age 2 and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Sales for ME3 are going to be bananas regardless of low quality story or anything else. It's the end of a beloved trilogy after all. For me personally, if ME3 is awful, I'm done with Bioware/EA games and won't bother to give the Dragon Age series a second chance after DA2.

Yeah, this game is not going to fail. There's a lot of hype, and they changed enough to draw in new players. It'll do well in the market and probably well in the reviews. However, it won't be a contender for GOTY, there are too many other games coming out that will have momentum after release that will have people talking a lot months after they're out.

There's nothing to worry about. Same as always, people complain complain complain on every internet forum they can find, and then they're standing outside at the midnight launch with everyone else anyway.

ME3 will make lots of money and that's all that matters. People can nag and complain all they want but its the $$

He's not saying it'll fail financially. What OP is asking is what happens if the actual game sucks.
They'll make their money for this, but what will their fanbase do?

Same thing as Fable's. "Peter Molyeneux lies again!?!? I'm not buyi-... ooooo, Fable 3?!?! AWESOME!"

Hehe this won't be a Dragon Age 2 it was delayed several times so the quality is there. For a failure to meet up to standards look at Dragon Age 2, that won't happen again.

Well, if it's really percieved as being low quality then their brand risks starting to lose value. If it just doesn't sell quite up to expectations then they'll be OK

Seeing as it already went gold, I'm pretty sure they are fine

"If" implies the possibility of failure. There is no way it could fail. There is no way. That's like saying there is a chance women are okay if you chose to spend your first anniversary with your friends.

THERE. IS. NO. WAY.

financially ME3 will not fail in any way, but the game may not deliver like many people will want it to...i personally feel right now ill be sorta disappointed with it just from what i've seen from trailers and what not...at the very least ill have some great multilayer i can play attached to a less than stellar game, while i hope this doesn't become the case i'm getting pessimistic lately about the game...i hope Bioware completely fools my feelings come the 6th

Why would they care if they lose thier fan base. They'll be using a formula to appeal to more generic gamers and succeed from there. BW will be around but they'll probably lose a lot of fans since this is the end of ME.

It'll sell well no matter what the former fans might think of it.

The difference between Fable and Mass Effect is that Mass Effect doesn't have a track record of failing.

You dont know what that phrase means.

When a game "goes gold"  that is the game that will be manufactured and you receive on the disk.

It has nothing to do with the success of the game.

These forums will burn for months to come.

Bioware's doom will be proclaimed a BAZILLION time in 2012.

Edmonton will be marched upon with fire and blood. :P

OP: The odds of ME3 failing are low. http://www.gamespot.com/news/mass-effect-3-preorders-well-ahead-of-mass-effect-2-6351101

Don't believe the "rage" in BSN. Game forums, BSN especially, are an echo chamber that tends to spotlight the most vocal (who are often the most implacable) gamers. The silent majority (those who quietly purchase and enjoy the game) are often not captured on gaming forums.
