So command and conquer won't get hyped up?hitorihanzo wrote...
BioWare is part of EA now. They are basically...McDonald's. They aren't going anywhere. BioWare's biggest risk is their reputation. For years they have been known as some of the greatest storytellers in gaming. If ME3 doesn't live up to that expectation, especially so zoon after the critical disappointment that was DA2, then they are going to take a whupping. It will make it very hard to hype up any new IP the way that the ME, and DA franchises were hyped up.
So what happens to Bioware if ME3 fails?

i have a question of my own...
what is up with the negative feelings with bioware lately?
dude seriously my question was to be nice. no reason to just start throwing that out there.
im just saying from what i see on the boards people want them to fail because there not getting what they feel like there entiltled to.
and this is no attack its just a fact
i have seen every excuse in the book used against bioware.
for example
mp is cod wich in fact it is NOT seeing as its not fps for starters
bioware are the only developer to charge for first day dlc when they are NOT
bioware did da2 so me3 will flop wich it WONT even knowing a different team did the thing
and my new favorite excuse now is the whole ign is gona give me3 a perfect 10 do to chobots role
its almost like anything thats new added just makes the so called true *rpg* fans just go out and make digusting accusations.
i personally have been called a bioware butt kisser even though alot of people who know me knows thats not true at all

Negative word of mouth would slowly kill the franchise.
No matter how much "better" the sequel is(or will be), it'll only sell about half as much as its predecessor. And if those sales don't cover development costs or fail to meet their sales projections, then someone's getting fired.

If ME3 doesn't disappoint, then I expect that Bioware will see a large boost in popularity that will last until they make another Dragon Age 2.
Either way, however, ME3 itself will sell well.

EA has the habit of milking developers dry then tossing them out like yesterday's trash.

i have a question of my own...
what is up with the negative feelings with bioware lately?
Most distrust and negative feelings started when DA2 hit the shelf.. Bioware has made mistakes before, Jade Empire is not only bad, but one of the worst rpgs i ever played, but the DA2 fail is completely different story.
With JE, Bioware was clearly experimenting new ideas and tricks, the whole game is a testing move, players did not get their hopes up, developpers learned stuff with game's failure, end of the story.
But DA was suppose to be the "spiritual successor" of BG series, the greatest fantasy rpg ever created(or second greatest, with the 1st being PST), and while DA1 was not quite as good as BG, it surely tried and effort it showed to gamers gained it mostly favorable reviews both critically and commercially.
With such a good foundation, they did a DA2. We all know what happened next. The thing with DA2, is not an honest mistake, that it's not an "oh i dropped a glass" kind mistake.Everything was chosen to happen, the bad graphic, less tactical combat, bad characters less explorations and everything, they decided to make DA2 that way to appeal console market.
SO, sometimes people defend ME3 when DA2 was mentioned, they say "its not the same studio". Well it doesnt matter, DA2 is a Bioware title, they are willing slash, choke and kill their own title means they might have no respect to quality control anymore, if it could happen to DA, it sure could happen to ME.
