The only problem is that, for the player and the relationships we've built with characters over 3 games there's no difference between a 2500 point victory and a 5000 point victory. Big whoop some more people on earth lived. Oh wait, this is the last game. And the people we actually care about, our LI and crew, are stranded, who knows where, with no chance of reunion, because all the damn relays are broken. And our hero, who has already died saving the galaxy is in most possibilities dead.
It's bull**** that the "we want ****ty endings" crowd was catered to exclusively while there weren't even mildly happy endings. It's lazy and just plain screwed up what Bioware did here. Would it really have been so terrible to include one ending where Shep got to live happily ever after with his remaining friends? I mean if saving the billions of remaining faceless sentients in the galaxy is supposed to balance Shep's sacrifice shouldn't the loss of millions of faceless sentients balance a happy ending?
Geez, as much grief as the Gears games get around here, at least that trilogy ended with some hope of a better future for the protagonists that suffered through the trilogy. Nope, sorry, dead, stranded, and locked back in their own backyards.

When everything ended, you at least have a chance to see everyone's faces again.

Was there a post that explained them more than Control: Bad or good, Destory: bad good neutral, Synergy?
Because from what I read its hard to tell the difference when they details aren't there.
So saying they are similar without actually playing the game is pretty irrational.
Control - means Shepard becomes the new Guardian which in fact means Ruler of the reapers.
Merge - means Shepard merges all organic life with the reapers and everyone becomes cyborgs with reaper glowing eyes
Destroy - means Shepard destorys the reapers

This is so ridiculous. Thanks a lot Bioware for ruining what I believed was going to be an amazing game.
This kills Mass Effect 3 and the Mass Effect Ip

Do I really play a game to be desperate? If I want to be desperate I can grab a newspapper and read horrible things people do IRL.

I don't want disney, I just want logic. Why doesn't destroying the relays kill everyone like in Arrival? Why is the normandy suddenly out in the middle of space next to a relay? Why is there no way to preserve the relays? Why am I putting an army together to fight the reapers when I can just push the self destruct button?
exactly even earth will be vaporised by the sol relay.
i dont think there little to no truth to this endings.
and why is this conduit thing at earth and what does it do, you wuld think that gathering the full arsenal of war assets and the crusible youd be able to win by military might alone and choises during battle the end and other battles culd mark the destruction of a race
and i remember thats what bioware said the bad consucvense wuld be

Agreed.
Gaming is a form of escapism. A way to forget about reality and immerse yourself in something fantastical. If I really wanted to experience something real, I would go to work, pay some bills or watch the news. I don't need games for a dose of reality, I live in the real world.

Create for us a logically coherent 'Disney ending' without some Dues Ex Machina, now go?

Well, for me, they could have simply NOT thrown the Normandy through a random wormhole, and just had it pick Shepard up after he makes his decision, assuming he isn't dead.
Doesn't change much for the galaxy, but at least I've got what I wanted from a happy ending.

tbh one of my favorite game endings was the good one from infamous 2 and it was rather bittersweet
And that's fine because Infamous 1 was also bittersweet and that was the tone of the games. You could play ME1 and ME2 in a paragon heroic fashion, saving the day and protecting your crew. You had many decisions that we were told that would be important.
In the end, all was for naught. We could have just played the final battle. Shepard and her crew lose everything. The cycle is broken but galactic civilization is destroyed. And with the collapse of galactic civilization, everyone is pretty much dead anyway.
Now, if you played a dark, bladerunner type game (and I have those saves) then that makes excellent sense. It also makes excellent sense that no ending is completely happy, but basically all the endings are just bitter. Nothing you did mattered.
