Just looked at the email for this account and it has no spam

If it was a recent hack (before Xmas last year) then surely it would of also been spammed (my other account that is 2 years old has been spammed)

But I am no expert

Started Precisely when I installed Origin to pre-load Mass Effect 3, then logged in via (very old) existing EA account. Now, I have no idea how that could happen unless origin is itself compromised, or their "privacy" option (all clicked) don't work?

Concerning seeing as its taking payments.... Password changed and time to check that credit card statement. Some major heat incoming to EA if their (*&(*& steam clone turns out to be the root cause problem...

This is not new, company typically will get your email address. If you checked out on the box that says "Agree to send promotion to your account" or even if you had not read the full terms of agreement. I wouldn't be shocked, that a company is using your email address to spam promotions of other games. If they think you buy one game, then I think they keep you on a mailing list.

I am pretty sure it's EA, though, not necessarily Bioware. Most companies sell customer information these days.

Yes I get this as well, but whatever it is in my spam folder and I don't open them. My spam folder deletes each day cause I get a lot of spam (old e-mail). Howevert the one I use for forums and such isn't my "personal" one.

I don't have origin installed on any of my PC's, so I don't think thats it.

Also got one more, today I have had around 4 new ones, seems to be slowing down.

Been inundated for a few days by this Fun Girl and a few other emails that from the summary I could see, was a bunch of garbled nonsense. At first I was suspecting a friend had had their account compromised/contacts jacked *again*, but now I find this.

Interesting thing is, the spam is only going to the email I had registered as my Origin/EA account at the time of the breach. I changed it after, and that one is clean still. So it's possible it is just something from the old breach. Maybe.
