ok so i wanted to know if anyone one of you were cold hearted enough to not give Tali a hug during her loyalty mission. It is the only paragon option i cant skip. Even my main renegade for life character couldnt resist given her a hug. None of my friends couldnt resist either, so is anyone evil enough to not give her a hug?

Hahaha, yeah, it's really tough, especially on a Renegade playthrough. It's easier when you're playing as fast as possible, though - you can run past all the enemies to that door throughout the entire mission, and they'll disappear when the cutscene starts. Oddly enough, that break in immersion helps me feel a little less bad.

You know, the more and more I play this game (6th playthrough), the more I realize how deep a character Tali is. Samara's character (including her loyalty mission) was my favorite when I first played the game, but for whatever reason, my empathy and involvement with Tali’s character grows every time I play this mission.

Back in ME1, I wasn't really of a fan of her. I wasn’t very interested in her culture, and I was so preoccupied with Liara and Garrus that I didn’t think much of her. The first time I played this game, though, she really struck me as someone who had grown in the past two years. Her mission also exposes her culture and the motives that drive her in a very interesting way, which is why it has always been one of my favorites. In retrospect, I can understand why there were so many "Talimancers" back when the game launched – her character is genuinely human.

Unlike some certain other characters. Jacob.

I missed the interrupt the first time.

That was out of shock (OMG grieving squaddie...dead parent...whatdoIdowhatdoIdo?) rather than malevolence.

One of my seven Playthroughs was an ****. Renegade as hell and generally not a people person. He didn't hug Tali.

Yeah, one of my playthroughs I didn't. She also spilled her guts about Tali's father to the Admiralty Board.

To be honest, I think there are some wonderful lines and voice acting if you do that, and Tali's character evolution is very interesting. Hopefully everyone does it at least one playthrough to see out the consequences in 3.

Just had this yesterday. Missed it the first time (just like I'd missed the Renegade Interrupt in the vault on Kasumi's mission only about an hour before, so must have been something up with my attention last night) so I saved after and went back to see what difference doing it made. Not a lot, TBH, but it's certainly a more realistic reaction from femshep, and probably blokeshep as well. Especially if he's hoping to nail Tali later.
Or is it really a more realistic reaction? I mean for all the characters know more geth could coming pounding into the room literally any second, and they're not likely to be too embarrassed at butting into a such tragic emotional moment to shoot everyone involved in the face. More realistic would be to keep guns out and do hugs and emotional support stuff later on.
And incidentally, how do Quarians dry their eyes etc if they've been crying? Or do they not bother because it's not like anyone can see if their eye make up has run?:)

Instinct always tells me to hug, but two Sheps of mine didn't. A 100% renegade that doesn't believe in the power of hugs. And a paragon i try to play as a bit of emotionally cold. There are some quite interesting lines either way.

In my canon playthrough I don't hug Tali because I'm running what I would do and I'm just not a hugger. A pat on the shoulder maybe and a "there, there" but that's about the limit to what I'm capalbe of in helping people with their grief.

I didn't give her a hug because I was too busy eating a sandwich and didn't press the interrupt button in time. So disappointed in myself..

I didn't hug her in 2 playthroughs. Once I even purposely sided with Legion after their loyalty missions finished. I actually like her when she's not being obsessed about the flotilla and geth; but I'm just not hugging anyone wearing a mask all the time.

I've always wanted to feel the material of Tali's suit, so I do it all the time.
