I am seeing a lot of threads and all these comments  about people getting PO'ed.  What do you expect from the endings?  This is the final game and the Reapers have arrived.  What do you really expect? Shepard masses all the galaxies armies to defeat the Reapers in a single blow and everyone lives happily ever after, the end?

No there will be heavy casualties and the fight wont be easy.  Bioware has done a good job with the three endings And on top of that of chorse they are gonna be "bad" endings.  Its the Reapers we are talking about here, not the collectors or cerberus which could be whiped out with minimal resistance.

and they fit in quite well.  Kudos to Bioware. :wizard:

The issue isn't that there is sacrifice - the issue is that some universal aspects of all the endings just don't make any sense and seem to happen because they can happen.

Generally I like the endings, but there is some....wtf moments...and not in good way.

Edit: Also the redundancy of your choices and sacrifices made through the game to get...the same endings as everybody else. That kind of irks me the more I think about it.

What I expected TRILLIONS dead all the civilliasation crippled. BUT Normandy and its crew is alive and well. That is all I don't give a crap about the reapers.

Whats even worse is the stranded part MAKES NO SENSE.

WHY THE HELL IS THE NORMANDY OUTSIDE SOL?

The fight is in earth Normandy was leading the charge. Suddenly they are stranded in a dessert planet!!!!!!!

People are upset, not because they wanted a perfectly happy ending (or at least, most people didn't), but because there is no ending that is even remotely happy, at all, in any way. In fact, since all the endings share the worst parts, it hardly matters which one you choose.

Let me summarize all the complaints for you:

"I made an ending in my head while waiting which involved one of my love interests and its not in the game! waaah!"

They don't care about the casualties, they don't care about the sacrifices, they don't care about the trillions of lives that suffer...

They just want Shepard to be able to spend the rest of his days ****ing his space waifu/husbando.

I wouldn't mind the endings so much if they weren't all pretty much the exact same ending. Merge, control, destroy, it doesn't matter.

The relays are gone, Shepard still ends up dead or forever alone and the Normandy still ends up stranded. WHY IS THE NORMANDY EVEN STRANDED IN THE FIRST PLACE!?

All seven ****ing endings are like that.

Yep.

Thats currenly my growing complaint - it seems to make everything you've done for three games pointless.

I get that there must be sacrifice and we can't have a happy ending all the time (I would like one though) - but the fact that the multiple endings is effectively the same ending with a different colour really is starting to bother me.

It's upsetting to think that no matter what choice you make it won't make a difference in the overall ending. At least in ME2 if my crew died, then it was my bad, whether it was because the Normandy wasn't upgraded or I assigned the wrong person to the wrong job. There was potential for a happy ending and I was okay with that. I just don't understand what the point is to claim that there are 3-6 endings when they all reach the same dire conclusion of nearly everyone getting screwed.

I was hoping for sacrifices and loss, actually. And since my romance is Thane, who was going to die anyway, I'm not upset that Shepard can't fall into her LI's arms at the end. The irritation comes from the fact that all six endings are incredibly dark, and that they have the exact same epilogue. No matter what I do--cure the genophage, make peace with the quarian and geth, sacrifice Shepard--the outcome is exactly the same.

And dark endings. I love me some dark endings, but after being able to succeed so fully in the last couple of games, it just feels jarring to me, and a bit forced. YMMV, of course, and I'm genuinely happy for those who are enjoying the way the series is going to go out. Hopefully I'll get there in time.

Lie, from what I read in one Shepard lives but is forever alone, Shepard dies but the galaxy survives, and everyone merges with the reapers.

If you buy that then you are a mere Bio fan . Its real simple no matter what you do or do not do in ME 3 . Shepard will die and the galaxy gets blown back into the stone age with the Mass Relays being blown up . The only ending were you can save anyone is the merge ending. but in that ending Shepard dies . Oh and the LI bull Crap unless you are banging someone from ME 1 thats all the game cares about . because if you have a LI from ME 2 the game gives you a big fat F U in Shepard's flashback vision .

I wanted to retake Earth and kick major Reaper ass in the process, then get wasted with Garrus down in McLaren's. Is that too much to ask?

No, Shepard dies in almost all of the endings.

Shepard might as well be dead if he/she is forever isolated from all those he/she loves.

I said died because in the merge ending being a lone and not in contact with his friends and LI or crew . Might as well be death because its bull crap and garbage .

The thing is, it's relatively easy to get an ending where the reapers are no longer a problem. But on the other hand the galaxy is ALWAYS royally ****ed at the end of it and if Shepard DOES live, he's separated from the crew who are probably screwed as well! WHY? None of that journey is the destination stuff, I want to know why I've been beating my head against a wall since I picked up Mass Effect 1 for these crap endings!
