I don't understand the Revenant hate

I don't get why the Revenant I has the same accuracy about as an Avenger X. the only set back is the abysmally low damage on my big red baby.
Anyways I'd like to hear peoples experiences with the revenant thus far and why you think it is impossible to shoot (or why not!)

Haha, no. Not even close. The Revenant sucks because it's just the Avenger with a bigger magazine, way more weight, a bigger magazine and the same damage. With the amount of rounds you waste it ends up being about as effecient at killing as the Avenger, but more than twice as heavy.Verkir wrote...

thats what people keep telling me but with a stablity mod I can headshot a trooper from across the Noveria map.
I have also done almost 20 play throughs, all soldiers using the Rev on insantiy in ME2 so it has sort of become "my" gun.

Took me about a week, and I watched several of my friends who don't want to use it get it to level 4 and 5...
Keep on trucking

I see loads of people complaining about the accuracy of the gun like it is the most horrid thing in the universe.

Having the Revenant be one of my most anticipated guns since I started the demo, I finally unlocked it a few days ago.
My review on it -
At lower levels, most people will be more effective with the Avenger for laying down fire, while the Revenant can lay down some suppression and make a group of troopers trip over each other for cover, using it reliably (at least at lvl1, which I have) is rough. Even when you are landing accurate fire with it (which does takes getting used to) it is way weaker than I ever expected it would be. Once you raise it up to higher levels however, it may become more reliable. I feel the Revenant has it's uses, but being a stable and balanced firing platform for the majority of the players is not one of them at lower levels of the gun. The extreme weight setback isn't a help either, but I imagine this is lessened at higher levels of the weapon.
TL;DR - Revy is fun, but until you level it up, I'd say in my opinion, an Avenger or SMG is a better bet for laying down large volumes of fire.

My thoughts exactly...
you would think a weapon that costs 50x more to make then an avenger or mattock and used only by powerful warlords would have a little more kick...even at level 1...

I'll summarize it here:
Basically, Revenant X will do about 1.5 times the DPS of the Avenger X. While weighing three times as much, and with an absolutely horrendous zoom accuracy. (Avenger starts at 0.2 zoom error and maxes at 1.0, Rev starts at 1.2 and maxes at 2.5... making single shots with the rev less accurate than the avenger on full auto while holding aim).
So basically, at close range, it can do some crazy stuff, while still being some-what decent for mid range. The avenger beats it hands-down for staying on target, cooldown reduction, and reload speed though. Although now I want to try the rev with the human soldier (since Adren. Rush instantly reloads your clip...)

My Suggestion: Less Kick and Bullet Spread and a little more damage and maybe a bigger Magazine Size to make it more a LMG instead of a Assault Rifle.
Even with those changes it would still be only a good choice for Soldiers and Sentinels since it's too heavy for the classes that mainly rely on Power Spam.
