Have do some searches, both through the this forum and google. I can find no one else getting this error..
Unable to initialize the graphics engines. This can be causeed by DLL missing, other required DLLs missing, or the wrong version of DirectX installed ?
Quote
"If the toolset cannot find DLLs you may need to run the configuration
tool after installation to tell the toolset where to find the Dragon
Age build. This can happen if you uninstall the toolset and then
reinstall it again in a different location."
Ran the program. Nothing changed.
So after fighting the the sql installation, thanks to the folks who found the fix. I am left with a nice install of sql and a tool set that won't tell me what its missing ?
I suppose part of the problem lies with Steam. I moved my steam client to accomodate DA.O to a new drive. Had to set some registry keys to allow the toolset installer to find the new steam client...
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Can supply dxdiag report as required. I know its going to be something simple....
Unable to initialize...

I'm thinking that you're right about it being about moving the location given the last part of the error message: "This can happen if you uninstall the toolset and then
reinstall it again in a different location".
reinstall it again in a different location".

I moved steam before I installed dragon age origins, not the toolset, had to change the registry key so that the toolset installer would install to the new steam dragonage location, that worked fine, all files are in the right place. Seems something is missing that says hey the game is here, the tools config utility seems to set a registry key, but that apparently doesn't matter.....
