I love shopto but if anybody is going to be getting the bonus pre-order content it's Play.com: they had it last time for ME2 and they do it all the time. They are kinda like the UK's Gamestop like that.

I'm in a bind... do I save £5 and probably get the game a day early from shopto.net or pay the full price from Play and end up getting the dlc but end up having to wait probably 3+ days for it given it launches on the Friday and their record is not the best.

Going with Play.com but hoping that we get the annoucement by the end of the day and hopefully they all get the N7 warfare pack so I can switch to shopto.net before it's too late.

Several GAME shops across the UK have closed down. My local shop announced on February 19th that it would no longer be open on Sundays. Today, I found out they were completely closing down on Saturday. I don't know what the situation is with the local Gamestation shop, but since it belongs to the same company as GAME, I imagine it won't have long left, either. I'm going to get my £5 deposit back and use what ever points I've got left on my loyalty cards for both GAME and Gamestation as fast as possible, because I've got a feeling they're going under soon.

How is it not EA's problem? They gave exclusivity to GAME when they could so easily have done what's happening now, and avoided the **** up of the year by screwing over every UK customer in one glorious fart. And if you think EA had no idea GAME was in trouble, you read too little news.

well I disagree there

there were X amount of CE edition made and X amount of Xbox ones were sold - unless online retailers have to take proof of original order before letting you place a new one, some people that had an order secured for many months are now going to miss out.

EA should be protecting these customers - give game the credit they need for JUST the collectors edition.... how can GAME not afford to pay it? The CE have all been PRE ordered.... they will be gone within 24 hours

You're being ridiculous. That is a major risk for any business and you are not fully understanding how it works. EA won't instantly make their credit back due to game sales it doesn't work that way.

They aren't going to give a company something when that company doesn't have stable finances and is asking people to take huge risks financially.

But i guess some people want to blame EA for EVERYTHING.

Um, there's this business term call due diligence.

If EA had done theirs before signing away exclusive rights, the consumer wouldn't of been forced into this mess.

This really is a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

GAME have taken the N7 PC version off their site but my preorder is still showing on my account and I've not recieved an E-mail or anything yet. Hope I don't get charged by them too. That really would be a kick in the teeth.

Same :( I managed to order another PC CE on ShopTo (which i reccomend, they are excellent) but i'm just worried i'll be charged for both for some reason.

Well there is little I can say that hasn't been said, I do however want to join in with this chorus of appalled exclamations.

I think it's very sad that GAME are having such problems, but I agree the way this has been handled is appalling. To leave it this late... Shocking.

Like many I had a pre-order with GAME from the day it was announced as available. But as things have gone south I have also hoped other options would become available. I am much happier to give my money to Shopto.net, so thats what I have done.

When it comes to the warfare pack I suspect it will go exclusive to Amazon, but its not a massive loss really. I may try and pick up a code online at some point...

Anyway, what a mess, badly handled by GAME. I shall never shop with the group again.

Game being exclussive retailers meant they must have offered Bioware/EA and incentive to be the sole proprietors of the CE. The fact they blindly accepted this is a bit suprising. Fair enough a year ago things wernt as bad as they have become. But now a week before release this is suddenly announced.  Sorry but thats far too tight and EA/Bioware should have had more foresight into the possibility this could (and has) happened.

I'm pretty certain their foresight was fine. Alternative retailers were available as soon as Game Group announced they couldn't deliver the goods- I don't understand the legalities of an exclusivity agreement, but I'm pretty certain EA can't ship the CE to other retailers unless Game Group state officially they can't supply it. EA/Bioware were clearly aware this was on the cards since we now have no less than four retailers now offering the CE straight off the bat.

I agree that the whole Game Group exclusivity idea was flawed, but as you've stated, its financial troubles were less apparent 12 months ago. I simply believe EA/Bioware have handled the supply situation as well as they could have in these circumstances. They just need to make more people aware of it now!

how could they have any foresight in this?

if i plannned on selling and recived my copies of the game that i ordered for my customers after i paid ea  for the order that they shipped me.. that ends there exclusive are what you say moeny to ea but the thing is once you paid for the exclusive there nothing EA can do about a seller that goes belly up.

Indeed, maybe im being a bit harsh.  I mean four other retailers now are stocking it in next to no time, so its clear that they made alternative arrangements quickly.

Still this is a fustration I didnt want to have a week before release.

As for that email above.  Great their are telling you if you ask.  However my order is still listed as pending and my email box empty.  If it wasnt for this thread, I would still be thinking my order was on its way as planned.

WHAT THE ****?????

BIOWARE

I have ordered a collectors edition - and put down a deposit on it - where can I get a PS3 collectors edition with the preorder incentives offered by GAME

Others have already posted the link but I'll just jump in to confirm: http://www.ea.com/uk...ffect-3-update

At this time we're unable to make further comment - The retailers listed on the site will all ship the N7 Collectors Edition. Check back on the site later on for more information on which retailers will be offering the N7 Warfare pack.

I understand my response isn't the most ideal right now, when we're able to say more we will.

But surely because it's so late in the day and were being screwed over at the last second they should ALL carry the preorder bonuses.

Unfortunately EA doesn't manufacture crystal balls and tarot cards to see into the future. Nobody could have known at the time of signing that GAME would not be able to furfil their end of the contract and would then have to back out of the deal so close to release.

It's not as black and white as "Oh well EA should have known they would not have the money to pay for it"

I can't believe GAME have still yet to contact me directly. People who have had these preordered for months won't find out until it's too late. Kicking us while we're down GAME.

im confused as to why game is not stocking EA games, what gives? why do i get the feeling this is EA's attempt at destoying the second hand market (something which game is the leader of).

If EA really wanted to drestroy GAME they would not have signed any deal that would have given GAME exclusive rights to sell the CE in the first place. A huge money spinner for them.

because EA madea deal with them that once they got the  product and paid for it they would supply the codes to them  if new copies of the ce are  showing up at the other stores you can bet that they sold there stock to the ones that got new copies of the game .. warfare gear codes are that they already been paid!  and can not be traded to other  competitors.

the issue is with game for not being able to  stay open to fulfil those orders due to debitors and whatever else problems they have dont you see  i cant operate a  business if i cant  get the money up if i cant pay  to  keep my doors open ..

EA has NOTHING to do with a exclusive retailer that has paid them they followed thru gave them codes for said exclusive and then retalier goes belly up see what i am saying... EA has no way to say "oh hey will you able to meet this quota for the 6th in few months from now" ONCE WE SHIP YOU ORDERS they have no liabity to the retailer.

thats' a REALLY interesting point! haha

if GAME goes under then the 2nd hand market takes a massive kick - EA can only do well out of this.

I'm sure we all agree - this will finish GAME. The BIGGEST game of the year... and they're not even goign to sell it? I mean, sure, no pre order exclusives etc... but they won't even have the game??? OUCH
