Worrying news for UK CE pre-orders (Game group not stocking ME3 - Order elsewhere immediately! )

That I had to find out about this first from IGN's facebook page is perhaps the most idiotic thing for me. They should have seen this coming ages ago and informed customers appropriately, but it's evident that even if this was somehow completely out of the blue they have still known for long enough that I should have an e-mail from them by now.
I've always supported GAME believing that whatever their faults it's good to keep them on the high street etc. However once I have used up my in store credit they have lost me as a customer.
Anyway, pre-ordered with play because it was the first place I checked. Frankly I don't even care what pre-order bonuses are being offered so long as I actually get a copy of the CE. I can't help but feel that it would be a nice touch to offer the pre-order bonuses across the board though.

Looks like I'll be preordering from Zavvi and cancelling my GAMe preorder then.
Zavvi have been known to deliver preorders the day before release too. Overall, Play and Amazon usually take the longest, but Amazon is most likely to get the Warfare pack if it remains exclusive.

im confused as to why game is not stocking EA games, what gives? why do i get the feeling this is EA's attempt at destoying the second hand market (something which game is the leader of).
Sadly it isn't just EA. Several games have missed a launch in Game because the company can't afford to buy them in. Ubisoft's launch library for the Vita didn't land on day one and Tekken 3DS failed to appear.

Does this only concern the UK based Game stores, or world wide?
its GAME UK, I doubt it affects there operations outside of the UK.

At least Polish version contains all possible bonuses.

But surely because it's so late in the day and were being screwed over at the last second they should ALL carry the preorder bonuses.
This.

If anyone is going to get the N7 pack I would guess it will be play.com as if I remember correctly they had some exclusive DLC for Me2, they also got some for Battlefield 3.
I have to agree with the comment that people who pre-ordered the CE but now cannot get one should still be given the collector’s edition DLC providing they can prove it was pre-ordered from GAME.
That my two cents(0.012p for us Brits)

They did that at least in Polish and Singapore version of Digital CE.

If anyone finds out that any of the alternative retailers get out of stock, don't forget to tell everyone here. Good luck!
Edit: I have used play and zavvi both before, but not for pre-orders. Zavvi were pretty slow getting my copy of Deus Ex HR here, but it was very cheap.

With the slight price drop, I'd be willing to pay to download it but I hope EA go the extra step and make it available with all UK releases; the smarter PR move, given the chaos customers are going to experience now; I feel sorry for the many who will undoubtably lose out in some way so close to release. Some people will inevitably make multiple pre-orders, some will get the news too late, others will have to fight for refunds. Fairly or unfairly, EA will not be untainted by the resentment customers are going to feel; especially if it turns into a last minute bonus lottery and some miss out for the sake of securing a preorder now.

Um, there's this business term call due diligence.
If EA had done theirs before signing away exclusive rights, the consumer wouldn't of been forced into this mess.
This really is a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Unfortunately EA doesn't manufacture crystal balls and tarot cards to see into the future. Nobody could have known at the time of signing that GAME would not be able to furfil their end of the contract and would then have to back out of the deal so close to release.
It's not as black and white as "Oh well EA should have known they would not have the money to pay for it"
People get paid hundreds of thousands of pounds per year to do just that. GAME UK has been on a slide for more than a year now, it's been reported more than once. I've known they've been in trouble for years now, and I've spent no time investigating them whatsoever.
What any business should do is swap books, which means open finance charts to each other (profits, loss earnings etc). What EA needs to do is then way up risks.
Bottom line is, no it's not black and white, but EA is a big business, and they should of known better. It's a farce to think otherwise, and shows a distinct lack of business acumen.

The site has updated to say they are no longer stocking it. If you really want confirmation you'll have to phone or email them, as they are being very slow informing their customers.

EA has NOTHING to do with exclusive retailer that has paid them they followed thru gave them codes for said exclusive and then retalier goes belly up see what i am saying... EA has no way to say "oh hey will you able to meet this quota for the 6th in few months from now ONCE WE SHIP YOU ORDERS they have no liabity to the retailer.
Actually according to the guy I talked to in my local Game shop, it is EA's fault that Game won't be stocking Mass Effect 3. Apparently EA was the only company that Game talked to about resorting out a contract that refused, the rest agreed and helped Game out but as EA refused it wouldn't be fair to expect all these other companies to help Game out while EA didn't so Game is not stocking any EA game after SSX for March (at least that's the current timetable).
Also just in case no one has mentioned it, when you go into the shop to sort out the cancelled pre-order they do give you your cash back and as an apology give you £5 store credit on your game card. (Though that might change but I doubt it.)
And in case I'm sounding too pro-Game atm, I do still think that Game is a fast sinking ship, though not as fast as I originally thought this morning when I found out about all this.

Having managed to now move my pre-order of the CE to one of the new stockers I have to say I know find this situation somewhat ironic. The money that GAME spent on getting the exclusive rights to sell the collector’s edition probably could have covered buying in some stock of ME3 had it not been exclusive to them.
They didn't spend any money. They have no money to pay what they needed to pay to get their exclusive stock in or in fact any stock of ME3. And also other top games it seems they are having trouble getting stock in general.
They have not spent anything because they have no money to spend. They are in debt heavily which is why they were asking publishers for credit (An I.O.U basically) which none of them are going to give because if GAME folds then that credit will just vanish since the company that owes the balance no longer exists neither does the credit.

On my game.co.uk page it still says "Unshipped" but when I click on my order I don't have the cancel button anymore and the status now says "Canceled". No email from game yet.S Atomeha wrote...

Will wait on amazon.co.uk to stock the CE and order there.
