That's crazy! People are actually bidding on other people's pre-orders or what?

People with pre-ordered copies have realised they can make some serious money.  So they'll just sell there collectors edition for £100+.  All the profit they make can pay for the DLC they miss and more.

I don't want to make anyone worry.... BUT

The Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition will now be available at the following retailers:
Amazon.co.uk [Sold Out]
Play.com [Sold Out]
ShopTo.net [Sold Out]
Zavvi.com [Sold Out]
Blockbuster.co.uk [Sold Out]
Gamestop.co.uk
Sainsbury's

That's what EA have said, and EA have been really good at keeping that up to date, as each retailer has been given the product, they have appeared on that list. HMV are not there, and I honestly don't believe they have the game. They will have listed it assuming that they could just order as many copies as they needed, I found it fishy that there was no product image (EVERY other retailer had it).

I had the opportunity to order from them yesterday - and I decided against it.

Yeah, I wondered about that as well.  It popped up on HMV around the same time as Sainsburys, or at least when people were posting about it, so it seems odd they didn't add it to that list.

£225???

Thats insane. I almost wish my moral compass would allow me to sell mine and get involved in the evil proffiteering.

I could get a new HD TV for that :P

For those who pre-ordered from Amazon UK I just received this email:

Hello

I have checked and can see that your order for "Mass Effect 3: Collector's Edition (PS3)" is still due to dispatch on 7 March 2012 and arrive on 9 March 2012, which is release day.

Amazon.co.uk has no intentions of cancelling any pre-orders made for "Mass Effect 3: Collector's Edition (PS3)"

I hope this allays your concerns and that you have a great day.

And for delivery I just picked first class

that's great news. had you contacted them prior to this or did they just send this out?

There is a product image now, but only for the PS3 version. It seems the Xbox 360 and PC versions have sold out.

I emailed Play.com last night and I am still waiting on a responce.   Im not confident with them after the Dragon Age 2 SE fiasco and the fact it took well over an hour for a confirmation email to get to me.

I had the foresight not to trust them though, so hearing that email from Amazon is reassuring because I got a back up from them

For the record if I were carrying a brand new 40" Telly home I probably won't have a spare hand to hold my moral compass.

Just incase any rich loons are reading this........

Just to point out, they have not been fantastic at keeping that list updated.

Play.com had the CE available on all formats yesterday for a good hour or two, during that time the list was updated but they never bothered changing Play's status from [Sold Out].

It's odd that HMV has not been added to the list, but if they say they are selling the N7 CE they should certainly be doing so. HMV are a big, reputable chain after all.

---

If Amazon really are getting the N7 Warfare pack as suggested yesterday, they're certainly being slow off the mark on finalising the deal, getting details on their site and getting EA's site updated.

That's not EAs job - EA have been fantastic at telling us who they are supplying the CE edition to - and therefore who will actually be able to send you a copy of it.

With cancellations left right and centre and copys becoming available again for an hour I don't blame EA for not updating the sold out parts.

Fact is - the moment GAME pulled out - EA had 3(or was it 4) retailers in place. Throughout the day as they secured more retailers they updated the list. HMV have not been put on that list, and I think there is a reason why.

Well, look how long it took them to get the N7 editions up on the website. Just as long as they get round to it eventually...

It is in EA's interest to let us know who is selling their game, of course. Also, as soon as GAME had to back out due to being about as financially backable as a 1 legged horse at ascot, of course EA had other sellers lined up. They were already lined up, with their proposed sale contracts presented to EA beforehand. GAME couldn't get the credit it needed so exclusivity went out of the window and the other companies were used by default. It's not like GAME left EA hanging, desperately finding retailers...for a title like this, most retailers would have been hanging around the deal between GAME and EA like a batarian around a human orphanage.

I feel like Bioware have just chucked this mess of all the collectors editions out there for all of us to sort out.

Actually the Collector's editions are just Prothean editions which have been genetically manipulated by the Reapers. No wonder this has been such an incomprehensible mess....

There should be no problem for you.  The issue began with GAME, as those who pre-ordered from GAME had their pre-orders nullified.
