That's why I said EA/Bioware product, that means any Bioware product distrubuted by EA. All these pre-order bonus exclusives are ridicullous and I won't support this kind of marketing again.
This is all because of GAME anyway... they screwed big time.

I've just received an email from Amazon and regarding the Warfare Pack and Argus Assault rifle, unless EA states otherwise, there is no bonus offer at all! This is ridiculous and I can guarantee I will never pre-order any EA/Bioware product again. I will only keep my pre-order of the CE because I want to complete my Mass Effect collection and I can't get it anywhere else now!
This was my question:
I have the following questions about my pre-order of the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3:
- The regular edition of Mass Effect 3 offers for bonus the "M-55 Argus Rifle", am I entitled to this promotion as well?
- Initally the Collector's Edition from GAME.CO.UK had the "N7 Wargear" for pre-order bonus, now Play.com, Shopto.net and Zavvi are offering this promotion for the pre-order of the Collector's Edition and regular editions. Will amazon offer this promotion, at least for the Collector's Edition?
This is the answer from Amazon:
After looking into your enquiry I found that the "Mass Effect 3: N7 Collector's Edition (PC DVD) " does not offer any pre-order bonus as offered on the "The regular edition of Mass Effect 3 " and currenty there is no promotion offered in our website for this games as offered by other online retailers as I hope you will uderstand that we are online retailers and the promotion and bonus are offeres by the manufacture of the games and not by us.
Don't blame Bioware - blame EA or Amazon if you have to blame someone. BioWare have no control over who gets what bonuses.
Indeed; you have to realise that the pre-order bonus is something offered by EA to retailers as a method for those retailers to boost their sales.
The retailers have to pay to get these bonuses to give to us, they don't just come automatically, and they need to pay for the right to distribute them; they have to want to do that in the first place. EA have the right of refusal but they have to have been requested first.
Amazon may not have wanted to bother with the pre-order bonus as they are aware that, as a game retailer, they fall behind companies like Play. EA may also have refused to give them this, but I expect it is more likely that Amazon just didn't want to fork out the amount as their projected sales figures would not have been enough to warrant it.

if Play get the game to me on time and not damaged my faith in them will be fully restored as a credible e-retailer. Its admittedly taken bashing in the 2 years ive lived in the midlands as nothing has arrived apart from Uncharted 1 which took about 2 weeks. lolseriously? I've never had a single problem with Play in the past. All pre-orders have arrived early/on release in perfect condition (South West England here) they were also purchased by Rakuten in September 2011, when is the last time you ordered with them?
East Middlands here.
I never had a problem with Play. i usually order from them or HMV but as someone mentioned before HMV can be a bit carelss with their packing.
I don'n know... I'm not buying CE this time but I'm checking this topic every 30 mins or so...
I hope all you guys get yours pre-orders and enjoy the game.

As I said before I'm not blaming Bioware, I'm blaming EA, the distributor for this.
Anyway, all those who ordered the CE were intitlted to the N7 Warfare Pack in the first place.
The minumum Bioware can do now is offer that dlc to all who register the CE edition. But I'm not counting on it...

Further to MortalEngines' email above, I phoned Play.com 15 minutes or so ago (before that was posted here), and thought I'd share the information here:---Via Play.com telephone call...
- If the pre-order has been accepted (as in, if it's listed under Your Orders) then they have a stock allocation for you, it is not going to be cancelled.
- Pre-order codes will be sent out via email (hopefully I'm stating the obvious there).
- They always aim to have the game with you for release day. (I've always received it the day before, or on the day from them).
Looks like I'm cancelling my Amazon pre-order for the PC N7 CE now. No idea how long it'll take for it to show up as free stock on their website again though.
Even if Amazon do end up offering the pre-order bonuses, they were way too slow on the update for my liking. I'd rather pay the extra £3.11 with Play, as I feel I'm more likely to receive it early that way anyway (based on past purchases).
Edit: Amazon pre-order has been cancelled. I put in the reason box that it was due to lack of pre-order bonuses. Maybe they'll get the message for next time a CE comes round. (I doubt it though, based on their history).
I've just cancelled my Amazon pre-order too, also stating that it was the lack of pre-order content. Hopefully someone else can pick it up who hasn't already got a CE copy.
I just hope Zavvi can deliver on time! I've never used them before and i've heard mixed reviews.

I'm considering cancelling one of my pre-orders. After the debacle with Game, I pre-ordered the N7 edition with both Amazon and Zavvi. Zavvi have advertised the pre-order DLC on their games but I'm not entirely confident they'll be able to deliver on all of their pre-orders since I've had issues with them before. Also, I don't expect they'll get it to me by the 9th. I'm more confident that Amazon will be able to deliver.

completely up to you really it depends on the person. At one point I had three pre-orders of mass effect 3 collectors edition (Zavvi, Amazon, Play). I went for Amazon because of cost (was cheaper for me) and having previous experience with them and able to improve the delivery system to be faster and more secure. But it depends on if you think the risk is worth it for the warfare pack.

Defo the Amazon one for two reasons. They suck at games and stuff. Second, you have to pay extra to get release day delivery.
I'm pretty sure Zavvi will get it to you fairly quickly.
Plus the preorder goodies are AWESOME

To be honest, I don't care much about the bonus content, I just want to be sure of getting my game. On time would be nice. Amazon works out at about £2 more expensive for me for some reason but I'm still unsure about who to go for. Initially, I was just going to see who sent the parcel first and then cancel the other, but I'd like to free up the extra funds now.
Decisions, decisions.
@Artist8: I'll take that under advisement.

Yeah, I saw that after I had finished writing the post.
Agreed, as all CE would have been pre-ordered through game it would seem to make sense to ensure that all CE get the Warfare pack, however when you realise that that is not actually EA's or Bioware's fault but GAME's. They had exclusivity on the pre-order bonus and, as such, when they failed to provide copies it was they who are responsible for removing that from us, not EA.
Pre-order bonuses from specific retailers are not designed to increase sales for the publisher, in fact they won't effect sales at all. They are designed as a way for the retailer to pay a bit more to the publisher to increase their own sales in relation to their competitors. They are not something that the publisher provides automatically as standard.
EA were not obliged to release the pre-order DLC to any other retailer; that they did to 4 of the larger ones is kind on their behalf (although the hue and cry if they hadn't may have had something to do with it). In most countries where there are multiple retailers for the CE, not all of them have the Pre-order DLC. Due to GAME's demand for exclusivity, and then their inability to deliver, that was not the case in this country; if you want to fault anyone, look to them.
Bioware has very little say in the matter.

If so I'll just use the 800 points courtesy of Game (via the £5 online discount) to buy it. I still got it for £5 cheaper on amazon and providing I can download it anyway I'm still not out of pocket.

Yes, it only fair. Those who had the CE pre-ordered months in advance were entitled to the N7 Wargear and were expecting on it. By my logic, since the CE is limited, for each CE there was a code.
After all this fiasco, we had to make our pre-orders before the bonus were announced for each retailer! The N7 warfare pack was handed by pure luck and note by our choice of preference of the retailer! How does that makes sense? There are more people here who would agree with me...

Both Mass Effect 3 standard and N7 collectors should come with the M-55 Argus Rifle. (Because they're the same game).
Hope this helps
Edit: Ther're doing the N7 Warfare Gear as well!

Agreed, I thought it just was not cool to provide 4 of the 5 N7 weapons with the CE and then provide the last (and one I'd be using most of the time, more than likely - at least until a better AR came along) as a pre-order bonus - which is why I went with Play over Amazon for my pre-order. As for the N7 Warfare pack ending up on Xbox Live it might do, unless it's been advertised as exclusive content somewhere. I know some of the pre-order bonuses in the US for ME2 were later released in item packs.
If it does end up on Xbox Live, I wouldn't expect it to be for a while though.

Tbh I never really used the bonus armour or weapons from the ME2 CE so I prob won't with ME3, still I'd like to have them but it isn't a deal breaker for me.
Yeah I have a feeling Game isn't going to be around that much longer and I wanted to make sure I got something out I this fiasco so points seemed the most useful way to spend my points, that and I had a pound or so on my reward card so it cost me all of 81p which to be fair I'd happily spend on sweets so no big loss. You can bet I'll be doing the same with any vouchers I've got left in store, noCG50 wrote...
