Alright, HMV said they will be getting there stock in tonight, or tomorrow at the latest. They will still be shipped out so it will ARRIVE on the RELEASE DATE.

I am very tired. All I have been doing is refreshing pages, I might try and play some Rise Of Nations now. Going to GAME tomorrow to get some Microsoft Points for I am Alive and any Mass Effect 3 DLC that comes along (which I am sure there will be).

Indeed. I think microsoft points will be the last purchase I make from GAME. And that's only because of the ridiculous little £5 voucher they sent me. Too little too late, GAME OVER Posted Image

Yeah, the £5 voucher thing came off sounding like an insult. 'Sorry to screw you over chaps, here's a fiver to, uh, put towards your next purchase, since it isn't nearly enough to buy anything in our overpriced catalogue by itself'.

To be fair, in GAME's whacked-out mind, they probably think they've handed out the greatest compensation package ever.

Meh. I put the voucher (and the rest of the 'reward' points I had) towards getting the Skyrim guide... worked out only having to pay £9. Probably the first time GAME have ever undercut anyone on price. :P

And the last Posted Image

I had no problems with GAME up untill this, but the way it was handled was attrocious and I'm just not willing to risk it again.

Thing I don't get is...GAME refused to sell EA products 'cause they didn't like the terms presented by EA....but surely they're losing out FAR more by not selling EA products and then giving hundreds, maybe thousands of people £5 off? The mind boggles. It really does.

Your right, I wander how much money they lost having to give £5 to everyone who pre-ordered the game?

As of now, nothing has changed with my play.com order. Seems like all the retailers will indeed be shipping tomorrow at the earliest. Bit of a bummer considering play.com have to send it from Jersey - it would have been nice if they had been given an extra day to compensate for this fact. Nevermind.

I've read several comments to say play.com generally get the game to the customer by release date, but has anyone noted when the game was sent? Just wondered what the average shipping time is. Getting the game to us is one thing when play.com can post at their discretion, but I'm a little worried this 'agreement' with other retailers (or maybe EA?) might have a negative impact on us!

Anyway, the money has not actually been taken from my account, but it has been 'reserved', so my balance is still £70 more than my available balance.

Fingers still crossed. Beginning to ache, actually.

Less than the interest EA wanted on the credit purchases. Game is currently having to rely on credit from game companies to purchase stock I'm guessing EA wanted a large amount of interest.

me too its my belated birthday present, im looking forward to playing me3, now if i can just keep my sanity til it gets here :)

lol, same here. i've been playing da2 on nightmare in the evenings to help me stop overloading on ME3. it's gonna be a long week.:pinched:

luckily, i've been getting a new kitchen and bathroom fitted this week til thursday, so hopefully that keeps me busy til my game comes, oh and i still can play single player on the demo in the meantime, i just wish i could contain my excitement waiting for the game to get here :)

I just been playing thru the first game again, i been planning on having a different save to see how it canges the game from my first.

I know this is probably gonna sound stupid but if I have just started a new playthrough of ME1 will I still have my first save or does it get overwritten by my new playthrough?

If you started a complete new playthrough it would have a completely new save to so im sure your earlier save should be perfectly fine.

Oops, just checked, I have no me1 save to import, I think I deleted it by mistake or something :pinched:
Does 3 need 1 and 2 or can it take all the choices from 2 since my choices from 1 carry to 2?  Keep reading mixed info.

Don't want to clog up the thread with my questions so if someone wants to pm about this I'd be grateful (feelin' a bit stupid here ) Will me3 import from both me1 and me2 or will it just import from 2?  I don't think I have time to play through 1 again this week, though I will try if I have to.

Well I decided to cash in my reward card points and the "We're so sorry!" £5 voucher and pick up Assassin's Creed Revelations. Ended up only having to spend £3 on it. Not too shabby, really.

Seemed a bit silly to wait around for any other deals since the place could potentially go into administration at a moment's notice, and when that happens there's a good chance they won't accept loyalty cards and coupons (that happened when I worked at Zavvi when it went under... we got a lot of pissed off customers that Christmas).

It's sad, because I've never really had any massive problems with my local GAME, and whenever something has gone wrong the staff have always seen to it that I'm recompensed (like when they lost my Dead Space 2 pre-order, they sold me a limited edition at no extra cost and gave me double points on my reward card).

Really, if they'd have given me more than a week's notice about all this, I'd be a little more forgiving, but this... this is more than just dropping the ball. This is spending millions of dollars to take the ball up to the international space station with the specific aim of dropping it with enough force to make a crater the size of St Paul's Cathedral.

I don't know how often items are dispatched from play, but I suspect it's more than once a day. Chances are play (and other retailers) will be shipping these games out as soon as possible tomorrow. And, again, honestly, I have never had a problem with play. I have actually ordered stuff from jersey before on amazon on their standard 3-5 days post, and received it the next day.

Maybe I'm just lucky when it comes to online retailers?

I think for next day orders its something like order by 3pm as that seems to be commen practice with most other online retailers.

I've always had good experiences with play.com and the likes aswell. I remember I pre-ordered Bioshock 2 from Play.com and they sent the wrong platform, mistakes happen, but I emailed them and got it in the post a day later before I had even returned the other version. Hassle free.

They have lots of warehouses all over. Often before dispatch they will forward the package to the nearest warehouse overnight and they have various dispatches over the day that forward it to the local depot it needs to be after dispatch.

Don't email Amazon! The customer support is useless and don't know anything. I think most of them are in India and just go on on screen information which lists it as out of stock because it is on the website. They sold out of pre orders.

Just be patient. Amazon tend to take their time but they rarely if ever let people down.

I'm in the same boat and I also pre-paid with TNT shipping. I contacted customer services this afternoon and they said my order is fine and will be dispatched on Wednesday, so I wouldn't worry.

I am also in this boat with you guys, although dibs not rowing.

I’m not sure whether to be happy someone else is in the same situation so it’s not just me or sad that maybe it’s a big screw up.

My order has now been processed and has moved into Orders  Hopefully it'll be the same for you guys too!

Same here, not sure what the issue is, but if they expect the game to get here in the expected 3-5 days, they need to send them out now. Last I checked, it's three days until release date, which means that chances are, we may not be recieving it on release date, unless the PO is really speedy, which I fear they won't be due to the sheer number of packages they're going to be delivering...

Strange Play Charged me Yesturday afternoon for mine took the money so i assume im certain of a copy.

Same here, my credit card company just told me the funds were deducted at 16:30 yesterday. To be honest I never really expected to get it on release date but I generally just go for free delivery all the time, and they virtually always arrive within 1-2 days of being dispatched. It doesn't even matter, I doubt I'll have time to play it this weekend... why did my mate have to have his stag do right now? :P

I'll have to wait until Sunday to get my sweet sweet Phaeston action

I don't think it will necessarily be £5 loss for each person - they still markup their stock to make profit so it'll probably end up being about £2 per person, but yeah, you have to wonder why they thought that this would be an ultimately more profitable course of action. Losing literally thousands of purchases plus loss of revenue from vouchers hardly sounds like good financial sense. You keep hearing the upper management of GAME talk of 'The Long Term' and 'The Big Picture' but its a little difficult to believe that GAME will survive long enough for any of it to matter.

That said, its pointless trying to understand the business logic of GAME's upper management. They largely don't have a clue what they're doing and simply don't understand how to compete in a world of Internet dealers and Steam, its the main reason why the company is in this state in the first place.

I just feel sorry for the shop staff.
