Has anyone ordered from blockbuster before? Are they any good?
Worried that amazon are over-selling. How can they not have run out yet???
I have a feeling it's down to the difficulty some people are having in finding the item listed in Amazon's search results as typing 'mass effect 3' isn't enough. Also it could be possible that Amazon have the larger share? Who knows

I find it funny how people are trying to make EA into the bad guys in this little fiasco. People really do love to hate EA it seems.
EA share a large part of the blame for this because EA entered into an EXCLUSIVITY deal with Game. If EA hadn't made the CE exclusive to GAME and allowed their customers to buy the game where they WANTED too then this mess wouldn't be happening for the vast majority.
So yes EA do have a large hand in this mess, it has nothing to do with "hating on EA" it has everything to do with EA's bad practices biting themselves and their customers on the arse.
I agree that retail exclusives are an unnessecary and rather silly aspect of the modern video games industry, but GAME being unable to follow through on their exclusivity deal with EA is not the fault of EA in anyway. If there was any doubt regarding the companies financial future then they should have been upfront about that instead of hoping for a last minute life line from a company they alledegly already owe money to.
Would love to see exclusive offers like this done away with entirely, as it was only a matter of time until something like this happened. Hopefully this fisaco will dissaude EA from doing something like this again in the future, but I doubt it. That being said, GAME's shortcomings are their own and not EA's.

I can't argee with this. You don't just hand out exlusivity because someone asks. Game must have offered EA something in return for this deal, it is buisness after all. Now Game can't fullfil their end of the deal, nor get credit to pay for stock, and so EA have pulled out. You really can't blame EA for this situation, they have to look after themselves first.
I will never EVER shop with Game again. I've spent a alot of money with Game over the years, yes it's just a transaction, but to be treated like this is unforgivable, especailly after last week saying everything would be fine.

why do i get the feelling that EA is just going to make DLC for everyone to get the gear card
I would expect so. Everyones ordered blind right now so its only fair as we cant make an informed decision other then personal preference. Or necessity right now as stocks are already extremely low.
I mean its secondary really to securing a CE, but EA have made DLC a big issue recently. If they dont fulfil pre-order content that was there originally then they can expect even more upset people. People arnt concerned with whether Game bought the content on the side. Thats business between Game and EA. Customers just want what was promised and removing it for any reason will leave a sour taste even with an explanation.

It doesn't change the fact that EA instigated this by doing their best to remove consumer choice and keep the price of Mass Effect 3 artificially high (by reducing competition). We have already seen the price of the CE version drop by £5 now that more retailers are being allowed to sell it. I should also point out that this mess with GAME has been going on for months but EA clung onto this exclusivity deal as long as they could. Then it was EA's refusal to extend credit to the UK's largest retail game chain that has led to them being unable to stock the product that EA gave them exclusivity of.
Now I am not saying EA is 100% to blame for all this, but they are NOT boy scouts here. It is their dodgy exclusivity deal with GAME that has led to this being such a major mess for their customers. As I said their dodgy dealings with retailers has now come to bite them in the arse and has caused them and their customers extreme convienence.
Yes the problems GAME are having are in a large part down to GAME. However the mess with the CE version of Mass Effect 3 is also down to EA as well, but hey if we say anything bad about EA we are naturally "EA haters"

That is true - for PC users anyway... It's good to know we always had a backup - pretty sucky for everyone else though

Question for anyone familiar with Zavvi's ordering system. When I check my account on Zavvi's site it says 'awaiting stock pick' when checking the order status. What does that mean? I've already got a confirmation e-mail and the estimated dispatch date says 9th of March (when it comes out).
Or should I order with Amazon as well? Just in case.
As of this moment Zavvi have sold out on ME3 CE PC/360. I think it means that they are awaiting being supplied but your order has been confirmed.
If you don't feel safe then order from Amazon as well. I'd do that. So yeah, just incase. You don't wanna risk it, heh.
