Hey, Just wondering but, I went to gamestop.ireland to see if any copies of the CE were available. I was able to select the reserve button and the CE edition is in my cart, but i havnot purchased it yet because I wanted to wait and figure out more about this mess. Gamestop says that the 360 version is sold out now but the game is still in my cart, so what does that mean? Will I still have the CE version because I pressed reserve or have I lost my chance now?.

I would do it pronto mate...their being eaten up like French Fancies.

Nothing to do with BioWare except it is their game.
They work for EA who were selling to GAME, who in turn didn't have the money for the stock.

Ergo, GAME, if anyone, is to blame.

I dont think its BW's fault. They dont distribute the game. EA does. I think its EA and GAME that are to blame...prolly more games fault for promising something they wernt 100% sure of obtaining

Not that surprising.  Disappointing, but not surprising.  Personally I hope those ones sit in limbo for a very long time (much like a lot of overpriced PSOne classics on Amazon and Ebay).

Are you talking about CE or standard ? cus if it is CE it is limited lol and as for standard you can get them on amazon

It does this when people cancel their pre-orders. Inventory automatically re-allocates to 'open order'.

Yes and no.

Do we really want GAME to charge us maximum price for games? In this time of unplenty most people go to where the bargains are, it's an unfortunate fact. GAME should have moved with the times, and instead of paying over the odds for exclusive deals (look how well that turned out), they should have focused on how they could bring in more customers. It's all well and good to be offering a large catalogue of games, but when it's taking up shelf space, and the store just down the road (which is also GAME) has the same stock. don't you see the overlap and redundancy?

EB Games in Australia seems to be doing reasonably well still, although GAME Australia has had some stores close down over the years. And games in Australia are very expensive, wherever you buy them from. But the selection of games from these two retailers are almost always the best. I remember I found Torment and Homeworld on EB Games' shelves(albeit in obscure corners), but those are hardly the money makers.

Ah EB.  How I miss you!

Maybe this fiasco will make Game see sense.  If they can't get access to EA and Nintendos catalogue for a while, they may be forced to focus on good titles, rather than the shovelware that tends to grace their shelves..

I'm inclined to speculate that it probably isn't really relevant as Game failed to give out the pre-order bonus codes as often as not.  Yet another irritation about their tendency to snag CE exclusives.

I've ordered through amazon.de and got my confirmation through. It'll come through later, so I probably won't get to play the game for a couple of weeks after it's officially out, but I'm hoping I'll still get the CE through. Thanks also go to Google Translate, for making sure I wasn't just signing up "to be notified when this item becomes available".

Anyhow, if this actually works out for me (which given the luck I'm having in my life at the moment, I'm not going to hold my breath) then Dark-Kyon-X you are hereby entitled to my firstborn (if/when such a person ever comes into existence).

Yeeeahhh.  Not sure you're understanding what is going on.  

GAME can no longer afford to stock Mass Effect 3.  Therefore, they are not able to sell it.  Ergo, anyone who had preordered from them must now preorder from somewhere else.  

Neither EA, nor Bioware (seriously, how are they possibly at fault here?) are responsible for this.

Checked all my known retailers and not one have the CE 360 version.

Also EA is at fault (al-beit slightly) because they choose not to credit GAME, so GAME can pay later, with all the problems they want GAME to pay up front.

I preordered mine back in June 2011

Only 6 retailers were given them after Game failed to come through. Sadly only PS3 versions are left. Unless those that ordered multiple copies from multiple retailers cancel.
