Seems somewhat daft to wait a full day to announce which of the 'new' set of CE partners gets the pre-order bonus content. By the time they announce it, all the CE editions will already have been bagged, meaning its value as a pre-sales incentive has already been lost. Short of giving those who ordered from every retailer for safety's sake (or the chance to make an insignificant amount of profit via ebay) a reason to rejoice, announcing which partner gets the goodies is unlikely to affect sales. Those who already bought up the stock will not release it, and those who purchased from another retailer will have no option but to accept the 'vanilla' CE.

The likely impending failure of Game as a retail outlet is merely symptomatic of what is occurring in the retail sector in general. A great many retail stores have collapsed in the past year and many more will follow this year as the UK economy continues to contract and stutter. I live near several 'shopping malls' and the daily and weekly traffic to these has flatlined hugely since the end of the post-christmas sales period. Online retailers may be part of this problem but don't discount the imbeciles in Whitehall, for as long as they remain in government, the economy will remain depressed (to say nothing of the population) and unemployment figures rise.

Current or previous?  After all..it was the previous set of 'imeciles' who put us where we are...but politics is off limits so...

NO CE...THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since then my order has indeed been canceled. I did not get an additional email about the pre-order being cancelled, if that's what you were asking?

Personally I redeemed the £5 voucher plus all my Gamestation points and got myself 800 MS Points for a few pence. I will not ever be using them (or Game) to pre-order a game from again.

Your best bet is going to Blockbusters on release day to see if that's where they are sending their cancelled pre-orders. If not there...eBay.

Fender are you drinking? I honestly think there was no way EA would want to lose a big chunk of cash if it couldnt be helped and Game just didnt give them the security to wing it. Its a no win situation from the gamer perspective as the failure of negotiations happened so late and the lack of communication to gamers in general exarcerbated the issue - I would blame Game but It wouldnt make me feel any better.

Well they all went pretty quickly. I can't find a single site now that has any N7 Editions availible.

I'm just glad I managed to get an order in on time. If today hadn't been my day off from work I'd have been in some serious trouble

**** Gamestation, Months i have had the CE ready, and one week to go and its ****ed me over, story of my life i suppose, not going there ever again. Why didnt they give our orders to another store ? its as if they chucked them out of our hands and the sharks came up and snatched them all off of us, disgusting.

There is finite stock, no new CE stock has been made, and to sadly dash the hopes of various BSN posters in the thread, they cannot simply make more a week before launch.

No problem, I just realised I had a mix of Gameplay.co.uk and Gamestation.co.uk in my origional quotes, to clarify, I pre-ordered from Gamestation (and that is who the email came from) not Gameplay.

And we can blame Game for their shoddy mismanagement of the company all we like....Game was in the news weeks ago about being in trouble...

EA did not just decide last night/earlier to no longer trust them with credit etc....that would have been a business decision taken weeks ago...

So...did EA tell Game late...or did EA tell game weeks ago...and only now are Game telling us? Guess we never know...

Mag sharing of customer information between companies is frowned upon without some form of checks and balances which dont really exist in these kinds of situations. Also coming down to money no one in the industry wants the hassle its a lot easier just to redirect folks to other retailers

To actually be really pedantic....they could if they wanted too...its a simple case of pressing cd's, printing paperwork etc.....it's neither rocket science nor brain surgery...simple factory operations.

Fender I didnt say you couldnt blame Game in my opinion it dosent make me feel better since there all going to be out of work soon anyway I'm guessing thats punishment enough.

I just got my N7 Edition for Xbox (it was meant to be a gift for my brother) CANCELED from Game.co.uk -.-' and I preordered it when it came available..

I don't have anymore words.. just a big WTF?!?

I only found about all this when i got in from work this evening I've had no email from gameplay and my order still shows as active in my account tried to source a copy elsewhere no good. tempted to rent or skip altogether.

Sadly, not being able to order at work means I miss out. After making sure I had an N7 pre-order since well before christmas, I am now bitterly dissappointed. Yes it's a whinge, but given Game must have had a list of those who had pre-ordered already it would have been nice to have given them first refusal rather than create a free for all bound to be subject to touting.

You can already 'buy' a N7 Collectors on ebay with a buy it not of over £100 or chance you luck on bids starting at ~£80. There are fifty plus of these auctions already. This really does make me sick.

It's really bad news, I pre-ordered my N7 also at Game UK. The other stores choices are worse to me (I live in Brazil and only a few stores send games here without expensive shipping rates). Guess I will have to purchase the digital version of N7 Edition (I have all past Bioware PC games in physical media, I wanted this also in DVD...)

The £5 store credit is obviously intended to be used against "Coronation Street: The mystery of the missing hotpot" which they seem to have plenty of stock of. Can't imagine why... It must be Game's leading title for the weeks ahead...
