Am I the only one thinking it amusing that Zavvi is now a 'rescue' retailer for EA, considering that the original Zavvi, shortly after it's transformation from Virgin, collapsed over stock issues (ok granted it was tied up to the Woolies failure via EUK)? Hence the reason I'm avoiding anything with that name by a very wide margin

I'd like to assure you that everyone who can help in this situation is indeed working on it. It's become clear to us now that we wont have a list of confirmed retailers who will carry the N7 Warfare pack until tomorrow. As soon as we do we'll communicate it.

EA probably received a small advance, which was x% of the minimum guaranteed payment upon delivery. As EA was probably about to deliver the product, GAME defaulted on payment(s). EA probably demanded an LC from a bank, GAME probably couldn't get one in time, or was flat out refused. Or maybe the bank underwriting their transactions revoked their LCs. Who knows. Either way, I'm sure GAME was doing everything they could to satisfy EA and I'm sure EA did everything they could to secure their own interests, until they couldn't risk it any more...thus we ended up with the clusterf... that we have now.
